Hi

I live in a steel container on a mine site. There is Wi-Fi signal outside but the steel of the container blocks the signal so I get nothing inside. Is there a gadget that I can use to bring the signal inside? Because of theft risk it needs to be fastened to the wall or if it can be something against the window on the inside it would also work.

You live in a steel container :O

You can use a wifi extender and just have it fixed to the outside of the container, You should definitely have signal inside the container then.

Strange we use Wifi on our sites and the signal is "fine" inside the containers. you do lose strength but we can still connect to it.

I get full signal (according to bars on phone) outside but nothing inside.

its a prefabricated room, steel container is a bit harsh lol.. im in the same situation... wifi is okay, but normal cellphone signal sucks inside...

If its for a Laptop - see if they have any spare Ubiquiti Bullets lying around.
All you'd need is a hole big enough for the Antenna, the rest could be inside. We actually 'loaned' one from a mine to set up wifi at a lodge we were using. They had a ADSl line, but no cellphone Reception, except for one corner near the bar. One bullet strapped to a beam in the thatched roof later, a power injector, and we had Wifi coverage in all the bungalows.
