How to make a phone call using fiber connection?

My VOIP and have done for 6 friends

Ordered the VOIP from VOX. R29 per month and 46c/min for calls
Got the RICA papers ready
Purchased VOIP phones from Scoop (Fanvil X1P for R395 + VAT for dealer)
Got the 087 number, plugged in the phone to the fibre router, it works
Currently waiting for Telkom number to be ported (4 months now, they "lose" or "cancel" the request)
Wired more Cat5 cable around the house (each handset needs a LAN connection)

Easy to set up and works well. Handset has some useful additional functions

My own Telkom voice line is poor, line hums, crackles and stops working. Advised Telkom numerous times. After a week to 10 days, they say they have fixed the fault, but actually nothing was done

I am 100% convinced that Telkom is run by dishonest people.

Using Freshphone with no issues

Hi. We have fresh phone but have a particular problem. Have to restart base every day sometimes even more than once. When calling, cannot hear the person on other end. Or both cannot hear each other but a call gets registered and charged for. Anyone else have this problem?
