I dont think Neotel still operates, i could not even get to their sales department yesterday, are they really that busy. Thats like one department a client must not struggle to get through to.

Ok so what is going to happen with the new Call of duty Black Ops servers that will be hosted by mweb? Im guessing that telkom and mtn users are screwed there?
I'm not the biggest gamer, but how many games only have Telkom servers? I know TF2 has a SAIX and an IS?
And who has Telkom and MTN accounts? Isn't everyone that uses the interwebs machine properly with the new guys?

Also why is only MWEB Cape Town peering with Webafrica and not MWeb Johannesburg?
Ja they are screwed. But that's their own problem for still using Telkom. They should've changed long ago. Nobody beats stupidity. Reason I went over to mweb is cause they provide us with better value for money and soon we will go business. there's so many ISPs thats also making use of Internet solutions bandwidth
Peered.

Both MWEB & IS peer with Neotel at JINX.So what does all that mean?
WA dont have a presence in JHB!? I'm not 100% sure
Maybe for the same reason as above? No Vox presence at JINX either...Vox is not local RPM..... Ping is 400+ms and before it was 50-ms
couldn't be further from the truth. MTN business has a huge business client base. so this affects all of them.
Using MWeb ISP to SAIX game servers went from sub 100ms latency to over 500ms. No BFBC2 for me until this is resolved!
Also, my SAIX leased lines at work (for VOIP) are only national bandwidth, so no sip.mweb.net connectivity - even via international at all. Luckily there are redundant routes, but this has really affected the amount of traffic I can send to MWeb for VOIP termination. Looks like they have shot themselves in the foot, at least in the short - medium term?
Yeah, WA only have a presence at Cape Town INX (http://stats.cinx.net.za/) - none at Johannesburg INX (http://stats.jinx.net.za/). MWEB have said that it's up to the ISP's to get to the peering point and then MWEB will peer with them for free...

One begins to wonder what will happen if Internet Solutions (etc) follow the same route as MWeb to save themselves huge costs on having to pay Telkom transit.
