I rate myself high. I will not serve some fancy looking gourmet meal, but I can make great tasting food from anything I find. Don't use recipes and am a master at making great food in less than 30min.

I am ok with a one pot shot , stew with what ever is available .
Got so sick of my own cooking during lock down , could not wait for restaurants to open .
My go to is cooked chicken from Spar with some of their salads .

I prepare food so we dont starve.
My kids quite enjoy my pasta's and pizza's.
Stir fry and steamed veggies not so much.

The girlfriend keeps coming back too ;-)

Boring.
It gets awfully repetitive to make dinner every evening.
This one doesn't want this, that one doesn't want that.
An easy trap to get into; not hard to fix either. I mean I can make decent flatbreads, but you don't want to eat that every day but I could because it's great and then before you know it it's that boring and repetitive. haha.

I try to switch that around with no flatbread, flatbread or self-made bread if any. I guess you have more than two mouths the feed and it sounds like kids are involved. Then just make what you like and they have to fall in or go hungry

If you don't like the process and / or can't get yourself into the mood whichever way it is always going to kak. the end. I like the baking it is something to do with my covid blues from bread making, vinegar fermentation, baking or general cooking.

I was already an ok cook when I left school. Then I got a 2 year education on cooking, baking and catering courteously of the SAAF back in the 80's. We served the same food to Officers, NCO's and national servicemen and we had a high standard. Set me up for life.

I did learn very quickly to not volunteer what I did for national service. As soon as someone hears you were a chef, they expect you to cook everything.

The first time I cook a dish, its usually a 2 but after the fifth time it's around a 4

I can make good, proper breakfast food. I love breakfast food, even for lunch, supper and midnight snacks.
