when she tells the story it is much funnier, and sweeter.
the problem is the set up is important.
I was a womanising serial cheater, yet I never cheated on the ex GF wiht the current wife. we were broken up when we hooked up, sure we had sex the day before I hooked up wiht the current wife, but that was a FWB arrangement. she grew feelings and came knocking on my door the night I hooked up wiht the wife for the first time (seriously bad timing) to try and mend the relationship. when she saw the current wife in my bed, she sugjested a threesome. I turned her down, did not think the SO would be game.

really glad I did that. it would have turned the hook up into just that, a hook up wiht no meaning, what happened instead is I found the women of my dreams.

And I wasn't trying to pick up girls (as I had been for years prior to that).

Then I spent 3 years finishing school and working so that I can import her in by plane.

I've looked for threads like this, but only found one in circa 2009 so let's modernise that with a new one, eh?

Being single myself and trying to get in touch with people for friendship (or more) seems to be a painful exercise.

Taking the digital approach these days means people have the comfort of anonymity backing them and will ignore you point blank, no matter how much effort you put into your opening message (or maybe I'm really that unappealing? :sick::crylaugh:).

I don't mind approaching IRL, but where, how and under what circumstances?

So then, how did all you [un]lucky buggers meet your current Mr/Mrs right? :D

Held a spit braai at my place on national braai day a few years back, she pitched with a mutual friend, we clicked and that was it.
Funny story is that at another spit braai 2 years later I told her to bugger off......

I met mine in an online dating site :p, but the relationship is going to end very soon. Love, trust and mutual respect is gone.
 
I was introduced to my SO at a drive-in by my best mate. I was dating his sister at the time. 8 months later we started dating.
 
Met my wife through an evening course I was doing. She had apprently seen me and remebered me from previous interactions (church stuff) but she is 5 years younger than me so I only noticed back once we where both over 18. Been married 11 years next month.
 
We worked together.

One Valentines we decided since all our friends are out we may as well go watch a movie together.

That led to drinks, which led to hand holding, kissing and me taking her home.

That was 14 years ago yesterday.

We are now married for 10.
