Hows this for a nice PC?

That mobo you're getting is G33 based. For your high end rig you should get a P35 based mobo - the cheapest one I've seen is the Asup P5K for about R1200 (including VAT) at PCint.

I have the Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3R. I can vouch for the P35 chipset, it's a work of silicon art.

except for going for a q9xxx quad, this is basically the same PC I would be getting if tito wasn't being such a bore.

I'm getting about the same PC except CPU is a 3ghz core to duo and a 19" samsung LCD for R7400.

In the RAM department I would have went with SuperTalent DDRII-800 CL4 (it's cheap, R330 p/Chip, and very fast)

And for the CPU I would have went with 45nm (not a biggie if you're not gonna overclock). Otherwise great setup :p

I would rather opt for something like Corsair or Kingston.... better quality in my experience.

Hmm, SuperTalent comes with a lifetime warranty and that ram has 4-4-3-8 timings @ DDRII-800, don't really see where "quality" comes in

No offense.

hmmmm... forgot bout budget.
Organise urself the P35 chipset, u wont go wrong.
Foxxcon Digital Life P35AP-S anyone?? Id recommend this @ R1400 performs so damn well, ive seen the results. Neck in neck with my P5E X38 somtimes faster.
Ram - Go for Corsair, very good Quality ram u would be buying.

ATi vs Nvidia - Lol!!! It really depends on what you want. Nvidia will be ahead of ATi with faster frames per second, always seems to happen that way except for the 1000 series wow that gave Nvidia a blow. But I reckon that ATi's visual quality is a better, u get more features to fiddle around with. Its really just what u personally want.
For me if I can get playable frames with Insane graphics  im happy. But fast frames, alryt graphics hmmm ill be bothered and im not just saying this, ive seen 8800 vs 3870 in terms of visual quality. Much less Aliasing on ATi than Nvidia, but both Cards seem to render textures much the same.
Like I always say theres more to Gfx cards than just Fast Frames Per Second.

So.... Id reckon stay with ur 8800GT, will do u good.
This just my advice btw, take it or leave it ;)

PS: 3870 doesnt come close to performance of 8800GT or GTS.
O and if I had to choose what Gfx Card if I was going Nvidia, id go 9600GT SLi, Anti-Aliasing performance is superb!!
 O I love competition

Maybe you haven't confirmed from the confirmation email yet or something...
