HP ProLiant MicroServer

I'm having some strange problems if anyone can help, this is my setup:
40 inch Sony Bravia
Sony 7.2 Home Theatre system
HP Proliant server
Windows 7 64bit
5GB Ram
2TB HDD
Msi GT 210 Graphics card - 1GB
All connected via HDMI

Okay here are the problems I'm experiencing:
If I leave the server unattended overnight, the next morning the screen is black but the server is still running - lights are on, fan still running etc. I have to restart it for it to show up on screen again. Any solution?

The other issue is an error message on xbmc - failed to initialize audio device(on certain movies) mainly with Dolby digital
Funny thing is that my amp does support Dolby digital and DTS so what's the problem?
Analogue works on all movies but on digital only certain movies work

All drivers are updated to the latest version available

Really frustrated

I am having the exact same problem.

No solution yet except powering it off and back on.

In Windows I have set it not to sleep etc. and power is on High Performance.

Room is well ventilated so I dnt know if the Card is maybe overheating or what.

Can you both please check your Windows Event Log (run 'eventvwr') and paste any suspicious events. I would look under both System and Applications sub-categories.

I had/have the same problem, except all I needed to do is turn off my TV and turn it back on again and it'll 'reconnect' as such.

I see lots of people running 4GB RAM. Mine is just used for XBMC so apart from the 5450 I've added on it runs just fine out the box with 1GB and Win 7.

I bought the BB-RC2 remote with usb infared from PC-direct for 60 rand, and it works great with included remote, but I can't find any way to get the receiver to sync with my harmony remote. I thought I could just set it up as a Microsoft Multimedia keyboard, but the receiver won't recognize the commands. I've manually "taught" it the controls from the included cheapy remote, but it is quite limited. Any suggestions?

Ok, what I did was I changed from the HDMI going directly to TV, it now goes into my Blu-Ray player and that goes to the TV.

The issue seems to have disappeared.

I got XBMC remote on Ipad & Iphone which is absolutely wicked.

Loving this Microserver with XBMC.

This is what I was worried about, I havent bought either yet. Is there a solution to connect the harmony remote to the pc for xbmc mainly thats an easy solution not "learning" from other remotes? I'd like the harmony remote as it controls a few other devices as well.... Thanks

My cheapie remote allowed me to program macro's, so I just manually went through and taught it some commands.

I had the same thing. Found out the XBMC was suspending the computer and not waking up again. Its somewhere in System settings on XBMC.

Yesterday i changed this setting (Settings - appearance - screensaver set to none)

Woke up this morning and went to check and XBMC shows up once i switch my TV and Amp on :D

Glad you got it sorted. :-).

I'm setting up my second MicroServer as a HTPC (1st 1 as a NAS).

I'm using a Sapphire HD5450 Card, with all the same hardware (no ram upgrade). I downloaded the XBMC live iso, and first installed it on a flash drive, but then installed it on the hard drive.. I'm having a problem playing video's, I select the file, it shows a screenshot of the video in the bottom right corner, once I press enter, it shows "working" for a second, then the screen goes black and then it goes back to the main menu without playing the file..

I tried avi and mkv, same result. Mp3 files play fine.. I'm using a LG 32" FHD tv.

could it be the Graphic card drivers ? if so, how do I go about uprating ?
