HP ProLiant MicroServer

I tried a few different brands, eventually just went with a Microsoft Wireless Mouse and Keyboard.
The only thing that really works.

Just a bit bigger than a remote tho lol. I love my mini KB/Mouse, but I don't do a heck of a lot other than watch movies and DL on mine.

Video playback stuttering in XBMC

Hi guys, really hope you can help. I am a complete novice. My N40L is stuttering, and I have no idea why. I have the Gigabyte Nvidia GT610 installed. I am running Win 7 64bit with XBMC 12 Frodo - Release 3 installed. Except for my GT610's drivers and VLC, I have nothing else installed. If I play any video through XBMC, no matter the quality, it immediately starts to stutter and slow my pc down immensely. If I quit XBMC and play the video through VLC, it runs smoothly.

Any advice please?

Hardware encoding switched on in settings?

Are Hardware video acceleration enabled and "Use a fullscreen window rather than true fullscreen" in video settings disabled?

Hardware encoding is switched on. I made a printscreen of the video cpu usage in XBMC. If I understand the data correctly then the CPU is barely breaking a sweat, but then why is it stuttering. Please seePrtScn attached?

I had the same problem with the beta release of XBMC so I went back to Eden and it went away. Waiting for the full release of Frodo before I change again.

Yeah, but it still needs to be functional...

I'm using a Samsung Bluetooth keyboard that was meant for the Smart TV. It has an integrated touch pad, but I also use a MS wireless mouse until I find a nice Bluetooth multi touch one.

I think the easiest will be to format and install Eden before I try anything else. If that doesn't work I will come back. Thank you all for the advise.

Another possibly stupid question. Communication to my N40L is irritatingly slow through my LAN. As previously stated, I run Win 7 64bit operating system. Isn't there any form of drivers that needs to be installed for the N40L that might fix my problem? Motherboard drivers for example. Furthermore, where can I download a BIOS update?

Imported this Logitech KB a few months ago, works quite well

Where did you get this from and what was the cost? I am looking for a keyboard and mouse to use with my HPMS for when I need to watch YouTube videos ect. At the moment I keep unplugging the K+M from my PC in my room and connecting it to my HPMS which gets a bit much.

$27 on Ebay. It took 3 weeks to get here

Yes it does, just received myne two days ago.

Ok cool thanks, I'm going to order one.

Looking at your problems Hikikiri, is it not just a refresh rate issue not actually a hardware acceleration issue? In XBMC there are settings to sync TV to playback refresh rate or sync playback to tv refresh rate iirc.

Reason I say so is that screenshot of yours says "ff-h264-dxva2" so it is using the DXVA hardware acceleration of DirectX.
