Hmmm strange.I see the picture. I went to Vodacom4me. There is no such service to ad??
The sequence *111#,8,3 takes me to the menu above.A Vodacom approved handset is required to activate this service.
1. Video Calling
2. HSDPA 3.6 Free Trial
If one's cellular service provider is not [searchforum]VSP[/searchforum], then one would not have access to that option on v4me since one's cellular service provider controls the contract and what can or cannot be activated & deactivated.i dont see, it i am with nausha mobile, i dont see it on the v4m page where it is supposed to be.
I think I might have jinxed queue position by attempting the activation on v4me, but will wait until tomorrow afternoon to see if a get a confirmation of activation SMS.
So far, no-one's posted 3.6 speeds (except possibly Kedul, but it was only one reading).
Probably because today is SATURDAY.As posted a gazillion times, the service starts on SUNDAY, the 27th. Although some might have already snuck in.
I would suggest you look for at least three times 2Mb/s+ speed results to assume you're on 3.6. Even on a 1.8 service a 3.6 device can get to 2Mb/s, but not consistently.
Tried USSD and vodacom4me. Could not activate. Called 155. They said activation for me would take 4-6 hours. Waiting.
Are both of those contracts with VSP, or some other cellular service provider(s)?This contract is 500MB one.
Also have Topup 135 contract. Cannot activate 3.6 on that either. USSD also dont work. Vodacom4me also dont work.
Am I jinxed or what?
I have no idea if Cellucity is part of VSP or not, I recommend that double check: www.vodacom4me.co.za > My Account > my details > overview > Service Provider.I get vodacom bill. Got these contracts via Cellucity. So... Yes?
Yep, that is my impression as well based on the following:Sure USSD works for contract? I'm not 100% sure, but assumed / were told it's only pre-paid/hybrid.
- Contract and Top Up customers must contact their Service Providers to activate or cancel the service.
- Prepaid customers can activate the service via SMS, USSD or Vodacom4me.co.za.
Is VSP your cellular service provider for your TopUp [hybrid] contract? - if VSP is your service provider, then v4me is simply a GUI interface into VSP, which is why you were able to activate the 3.6 trial using v4me.V4me / USSD worked on my Top Up [the hybrid V3g refers to] contract.
I meant that it appears as if USSD activation of the 3.6 trial is currently only available to pre-paid customers, and not currently available for contract or TopUp [hybrid contract] customers.Actually, Saule might be thinking of the hybrid contracts (Top-up, etc.)
thanks @Iam3G! I will test test tonight from home (S-West, +- 3km from Mall). How did you activate, or will it be done automatically. I'm on contract.
When USSD confirms that I am activated, does that really mean you are activated or should I still wait the 4-6 hours or 24 hours?
If you on contract you need to go to your nearest Vodashop and have them activate it for you, or you can call 155 and ask them to do it, or if you are registered to Vodacom4me you can activate it from there.
After 10mins i was on 3.6.
Then you get an SMS telling you it's activated ? What is Topup classed as?
