HTC DESIRE HD

I tried reading through this, but all I see is bla, bla, bla, bla......Desire HD.......bla, bla bla.......DHD......bla, bla, bla......DHD.....etc.
Please leave us fanbois alone......this boring interuptions is almost killing the mood.

What I don't understand us that identity comes into a DHD thread and then calls us fanbois, we are in the frigging DHD thread, ofcourse we are fanbois.

Sent from my Desire HD, a phone that identity does not have, using MyBroadband Android App

Since you asked so nicely I shall no longer say anything negative about the DesireHD. Instead, I shall only go on about the positives of such a device and how it is the end all of global poverty and the solution to Global warming.
:)

I went to Vodacom World today (nice colour now, huge difference!!!!), and saw the retail price of the DesireHD....R5200 - not bad at all.
Thought the price would be somewhere around 6-7k.

Yea, my DHD can actually help fight global warming, since I got it I don't go and switch on my pc or laptop to go and Google something, I just whip out my uber cool DHD and ..... wham, eskom power saved, and little less green house gases used.

Actually kinda true! I browse news, Facebook and MyBB more on my phone than PC or lappie these days!

Please go away. This thread tries to be helpful, supportive and friendly. You are clearly none of those.

Do you intend to own or are you an owner of a Desire HD? If not this thread is not for you, especially owners of phones with [-]Symbian[/-] Windows Mobile.

why the hate? i dont see Elimentals post as being non-informative

the author of the article clearly has a bias against screens with 4" and above, yet the voters disagree, thats informative from a consumers point of view.

I guess us DHD owners are in the winning group :)

Sorry should have added "according to the poll"

OK, so I am inline for my upgrade.

I have enjoyed my HTC Touch HD for the last two years. I found it to be a nice comfortable size, and quite 'pocketable.

I am looking at getting a DHD, but I worry that it is gonna feel HUGE. I haven't seen on in the flesh yet, so can all you DHD owners give your feedback on how the device feels in your hands, does it sometimes feel TOO big? Can you operate it with one hand, and can it be pocketed easily?

I find 3.7" a bit small for e-book reading, how do you guys find e-book reading on the DHD?

I might just hang around for the Samsung Galaxy S II, but then it is exactly the same size screen, so the same questions would apply :D

Please give some feedback.

Only way you going to know, is by holding it in your hand. Simple as that.

The 4'3'' display is perfect for web surfing, book reading, game playing, browsing Facebook, reading your mail, using WhatsApp, sending SMSes, using the onboard Navigation software, browsing pictures, taking pictures, watching movies on the go, using the phone as a camcorder, adding more home screens, browsing home screens, browsing your apps, installing your apps, etc. :)

Sorry, got a bit carried away. ;)

I'm with iDenTiTy here, best is to go hold a demo unit.

Personally I love the size esp for reading also the extra screen space has the added bonus of a keyboard that is not to cramped.

I think we must just spam Jannie van Zyl. :D

You can call Vodacom a lot of things, but they do listen to their customers. I know we'll get it soon.

Lol not to start arguing but VC hardly ever listen to their customers. There are more than enough complaint threads to prove otherwise unfortunately :p The most prominent one that comes to mind is where phone firmware upgrades etc was supposed to be zero rated from VC's website and they were actually charging customers for those downloads due to an error which was only rectified after a few MONTHS...! I kid you not. They also didn't even put up a warning on their website to warn people despite numerous "requests" to do so. I'm sorry but they only seem to do something when the competition in the market forces them to. :)

So we have to thank the people that complained about paying for their updates for not getting ours?

I would gladly pay for the 40 meg just to get my updates.

And now Vodacom has just dropped a bomb with the 2GB + 2GB + free data modem for R149 a month.

I'm so excited! Gonna get one contract for my pc and one for my Desire HD. Just imagine it.....a 2GB data bundle just for my phone.

It's an improvement but still doesn't detract from the pathetic and dare I say criminal behaviour in the past. Also doesn't change the fact that I'm still paying R185 odd for a stupid 500mb bundle from them either :/

I agree with you, but it's definitely a step in the right direction.

And don't get me started as to why Vodacom & MTN's pricing are always exactly the same! It's price colluding right in front of our eyes, yet nobody has ever said anything about it.

I think it's more a case of nobody listening but still it's gonna be nice seeing mtn squirm :D Also it's only available for 3 months so I'm curious to see what will happen afterwards. Also the OOB rates are still 3 times higher than Cell C's, which like always tell you another interesting story.:)
Either way I hope they drop their bloody bundle rates already so us suckers can start benefiting from all the cheaper data floating around.

...and then your HTC Desire HD will come alive! This phone loves the internet. :)
