HTC DESIRE HD

Very nice. Not enough to get me to replace my DHD but HTC is definitely going in the right direction. A bit more RAM, a slightly faster processor and I'm there. Definitely by the end of the year.

Will be sad to see the Desire HD replaced as the flagship though :-(

That is my whole irritation with HTC.
They release far too many models every year.

This is only a problem if you buy a phone purely for the image factor, instead of buying it as a device to use, if that is the case you should go join the iPhone camp and go get your device every year as the release a new one.

Only reason I bought a DHD is because I needed another phone that I could use for production and not test software or roms on something that my work depends upon. To be honest there is nothing wrong with my original Desire that is now over a year old.

At the end of the day the world is about choices as well, the more I have the better is the chance I will find something that fits me. I must also admit this is odd coming from someone that loves Nokia, no one has more options on the market than Nokia.

Always nice to have a lot of choice. :)

But you work it out for yourself....if you have a Desire HD, the Sensation will not really be a huge upgrade, so wait till next year and there might be a quad core HTC lurking round the next corner.

That's the problem.
Handsets should have at least a 24 month lifetime in the market at which they were introduced. i.e. The DHD should be the top of the range HTC for 24 months.

It is one of the many reasons that makes the iPhone so successful.

Or you have two phone contracts, then you get a new phone every year. ;)

No, think I'll stick with my Desire HD till it doesn't want to switch on anymore, just so happy with this phone.

And the poor sod who's contract expires 12 months before the release of the DHD? Is he doomed to forever own a phone that is replaced within 12 months of his purchase? Never able to buy the latest and greatest when it is released?

I think what happening here is that there is a differentiation on contracts.
One groups focuses on the handsets, the other focuses on the contract (voice/data and handset).
Hmm.
Anyway.....

Check my story I posted in the E6 X7 thread. I think my creative juices are bubbling atm.
Hope you guys can have a laugh.

I did. Lol.

Damn, Elite Mobile says that they are only expecting stock on the 20th. When I ordered it over a week ago they said it was in stock, so I'm not very happy right now.

Was looking for a phone yesterday as my could upgrade as of yesterday ... Phoned around ... nobody had stock .. and the last last place I phoned had 2 phones ... picked 1 up yesterday afternoon.
Luckily i know my phone backwards already and tweaked her phone and her battery life is already good :)
