Just got a message from my head office as I have not received my DHD yet:
"Good day,
Please note the courier collected the handsets yesterday at about 14:00 from our offices.
The courier normally takes 3 working days, so the handset should be delivered by Thursday, Friday the latest.
Thank you"

Wanted to ask the same, but then I figured he probably missed the HD in the thread title.
That being said I wouldn't swap my normal Desire for an SGS, not now that the HD's ROM works just about flawlessly.nevadayz

any idea if vodaworld will get preference of the phone first or is it just as likely to get it at any other vodacom outlet?
What's better with the HD? 'cept for the screen that's a bit bigger? But even though it's bigger, the quality of the screen is nowhere near the SuperAMOLED Galaxy S screen.

This is why we all want a Desire HD instead of a Samsung. (thanks, enigma243)
Oh, and the build quality on the HTC is miles ahead of the Samsung Plasticky S.

You sound jealous....and you should be, cos the customizations offered with HTC Sense on the Desire HD & Z are simply fantabulous.

Actually the version of Sense on the Desire Z and HD (and now on my old Desire sporting an HD ROM) is pretty damn awesome. I will concede that LP or AWD give you slightly greater freedom to customise, but I've forgone that for Sense's brilliant cloud functionality and cross-platform (google/exchange/twitter/facebook/etc.) integration. It really is damn good.
The only thing I miss from LP is being able to hide the notification bar completely...

So I went into Gateway MTN for like the 17th time now(they even have me as number 2 on the list for the DHD) and guess what they still have no idea whats potting! Now surely they one of the main shops! and after a customer asks about it a million times why dont they take 2 secs to investigate it a bit! Went to Vodacom and they had no idea what I was talking about until some guy came out the back ground and said as we've heard that their shipment was stolen. Nothing pisses me off more then when you go to buy a product from a store and you know more about all their own products than they do! the service in SA really is useless........ And its the exact same as for the galaxy tab which I wanna get, even a samsung salesman who was trying to sell me the galaxy s couldnt tell me when they were getting stock and the best part is all these products are being advertised already! C'mon guys if you gonna do a job friggin to it properly and learn your products!

The only thing about the Samsung that I would have liked on the Desire HD, is the Super AMOLED display. *Samsung is too plain stupid to realize that if they manufactured a quality phone (like the iPhone, HTC) more people would buy it.
But saying that, my iPhone 3G still has a TFT display & it still looks good to me after two years. Anything better (read SLCD) will be a huge upgrade.
