HTC DESIRE HD

Lol just saying the battery is not great from what I see here and this phone is data hungry, am I wrong?
I assume you need more than 500megs a month?
Can't understand how people knock a blackberry?? I have had many HTC's etc and just feel a bold 9700 is far superior

It all comes down to what you want out of the device. I've had a BB, SE, Samsung and now I have this new monster hardware with the awesome OS and I cannot take other phones seriously. I even played with an iPad and I don't get it, my phone is the best of all worlds I believe. Yes it demands data and battery, but that is the price of perfection, if you really want it, and so far it is not impossible to manage those needs with charge on the fly options and WiFi solutions. I seldom need to use my monthly 300MB data bundle because of my WiFi at home and at work. But that is just me and my expectations and needs. Each to their own.
 
Oh yes, not that this means much, and I hate to double post but my friend works as an infrastructure and technologies architect for MTN head office and he test drives all the new phones and OS’es and over the last six months of going through all the iPhones and BB’s and various Symbian devices, he has ended up with the DHD and is now playing with Gingerbread 2.3.1 I.e. Xda developers. According to him he has found his phone.

The Desire HD still blows me away every time I use it - I am simply unable to put this phone down.

And its a worthy upgrade for the HTC Evo 4G, first shown at Google I/O.
 
I own two phones - the BB Torch and a HTC Desire HD. Obviously the BB has free internet, but I keep putting it down to get my DHD. BB has nothing on this beast! And the battery last a day - and I use it quite a bit :)

Also, these BB's get confused about their Bull***** Internet Service. Come on BB boys, go crazy, download some attachments, youTube vids, avi's, wmv's, PDF Books... then tell me how free it is. :erm:

I would rather pay R59 for another 1GB ADSL topup @ home then pay R60+ for BIS. I mean, really, how much FREE data can you actually milk per month out of BIS? (my opinion). :(

I actually considered a BB - but the resolution and size of their screens put me off.

I'm not to concerned about data usage - I'm on the topup 315s - so I bought 600MBs of data, and have used 200MB so far. It also carries over, so if I don't finish it, I can use it next month, and then buy another 600MB. For any big downloads, it uses my wifi at home.

My battery is ok now, it lasts from 5am till 5pm with heavy usage. With light usage, i.e. a couple of phonecalls and the normal background services, it lasts two days.

From the home screen: Menu > Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > MMS.Vodacom

Make sure you Menu > Save after changing the proxy else it won't remember your settings.

So sorry to hear that! Only thing I can say to make you feel better is that it will be worth the wait. No, it will exceed your expectations of a high-end mobile phone. Believe it.
 
Has anyone bought some ebooks from the shop?
