HTC DESIRE HD

Any idea on a cash price for the phone from the carriers ?

... I'm aware of the +- R 7 000 from Expandsys

Expandsys is always so expensive .. i remember when the Hero came out it was over 7000 aswell .. then my friend bought it from nashua mobile for 5000

I'm actually looking for a reason not to pre-order (should be in stock next week) it NOW from www.handtec.co.uk Got my finger on the trigger

Did a quick calc, should cost all in under R 6000 (R 5600 - 5800). Just trying to justify the warranty risk.

But than again all the stock that arrives first to our carriers will probably only be available with contracts (... I've decided no more contracts for me)

I just contacted Leaf and they assured me the phone will be South Africa on the 20th and will be at the service providers by no later than the 25 November 2010 for sale and contracts  well what can we do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hahaha - thought as much from Leaf

Exactly what they did with the HD2 - told everyone it would be available at a certain stage - and then it was delayed.

Well, alas i recieved my contract @ R419 on an Anytime 350 but still waiting for the handset. I've been following up with MTN daily. The last info I got is the phone is sitting with RTT....

I'll tell MTN you actually wanted a Blackberry Torch & to pass on the Desire HD to me. :p

Well, my order was in the day it became available on MTN's web site....so I should be first.

maybe you 1st but i cant wait, I've even had thoughts of other phones but coming back and reading ur guys thoughts makes me want a desire HD even more but anyway i just hope its a strong phone as my last htc screen broke twice ok so it fell off the desk>>>>>>>>>:p

Fanks Howie, you're too kind. :)

Yeah, I've looked at so many phones till I actually got fed-up, but this is THE most complete phone out there right now.

Also looked at Windows 7 phones, but the OS is just not there yet. Maybe in a year's time, but then Android will most probably be miles ahead with Gingerbread + . Another strong contender was the Samsung Galaxy S, but the Desire HD packs the latest tech (14.4Mbps HSDPA), more RAM. Last, but not least, I actually did look at the iPhone 4 (yes, I did :( ), but the antennae issues just made it a big no-no, since I'm left-handed + a lot of people are complaining that it's very uncomfortable to hold when having a long chat.

SO.....the Desire HD is my choice.
