well, if you stumble onto a better one, please share. that's the official HTC one, so i'm thinking about ordering one. should work on my dash.

I actually want to mount a bracket onto my dash, but well....guess the HTC bracket for the HD will work.

ah yes, the CU S400, for the HD2.

the only problem with that is, you can't access the screen on/off button on top of the device, nor do i think you have access to audio out at the bottom.
 
not sure that's how it works. the CU S440 is the Desire HD and the CU S450 is the Desire Z. The last one with the nice looking mount was the CU S420, for the Desire. looks like the new ones have the cheaper (and cheaper looking) mounts. Not sure whether they will make a new one before the make a new phone. maybe for one of their winmo 7 phones?

So do you need a dedicated bluetooth car kit to pair the Desire HD with to get any sound? What were they thinking? :wtf:
 
no, the new types will mount on the dash as well. they just look a rather plasticky.

Maybe the company making it thought it was for the Samsung Plasticky S? :p

The plastic is ok, it brings harmony to Android. My HTC Desire HD, wrapped in a gorgeous Samsung body while navigating. :love:
 
Gave the navi a spin yesterday afternoon on my HD-ified normal Desire andd it does work very well. The maps seem quite expansive, down to the gravel roads in the Kruger. However the POI database is woefully lacking; "Places to eat" gives you the 5 biggest airports in the country :wtf: and nothing else. Hopefully that does get added to soon.
 
Sigh ... I got a call from MTN last night about my upgrade and was told that even though the phone has been released
we will prob only be able to get the phones by mid Dec :{
 
well, mtn retentions say mid december, mtn canal walk says any day now. guess we'll have to see.
 
aah, xrapid... bit of a pessimist aren't you :) that's cool. we need some of those too.
