I ordered mine on a Smart Phone 120s or something like that, matches the old Iphone 120. That is

They just quote you on a pay in depending which package you want.

Just got my sms from Vodacom.

I can only wish I would get Today, but it will probably only be next week.
 
popped into my local little MTN retail shop this morning. They tuned me they are only getting stock in January.
 
Good news is that retentions just phoned. they got a teeny bit of stock in, and mine is on it's way.
 
dial 808 and then 0 for operator and ask to speak to someone in retentions.

Another owner

Hey guys!

Thanks for a few amusing weeks of this thread! I kept reading in the hopes of finding out when the phone will be released! But now I can proudly say that I am also an owner of the new Desire HD. Got mine from Altec Autopage in Centurion yesterday, after applying for a contract on Saturday last week. So I am super happy and excited!!!!

My initial thoughts on the phone:

1) First time you heft it in your hand its a little heavy, but then as you get used to it, you can't imagine how you lived with lighter phones. The phone has an amazing balance to it.
2) The screen is beautiful! Its amazing and crisp, and it really was worth the wait, even if it is just normal LCD (if it is)
3) Battery life: My first day with playing with it since this morning about 5:00. Im still at 50% battery and I've been downloading apps, surfing the web, checking emails, playing a few games, had a call or 2 and texted a bit. So for a first day and first charge, I would say it's holding up really well.
BUT since we are all in desperate need of battery power I thought I would share this glimmer of hope:

That battery or a similar one will definitely come in handy. 1600mAh whoop!!! Only the supplier is currently out of stock but we should see it again and some other alternatives as well! I'm buying myself one as soon as it is available again.


4) Surfing the net is a great experience, especially the multiple tabs and zooming. It's incredibly smooth and my phone hasn't stuttered on anything once.

5) Like some people have said the integration with facebook etc is extremely good and very intuitive!!

For those of you still deciding it's a great phone. It looks damn good, it has a nice solid feel and the experience is really out of the world! Never have I been so happy to say good-bye to Blackberry! I haven't tested everything but so far so good!!

And the screenshots jkoekemr posted, just makes me want to go and find him on those co-ordinates. :p
