HTC DESIRE HD

I received my HTC Desire HD on Friday. HTC + Android = Awesome device.
Anyone know where i can get a pouch for the phone in the Durban area? Also, i'm looking for an app that would allow me to chat to my BBM friends on their bbm apps. I think this was addressed in this thread, and bbm can only chat with bbm. hope there's a way around.
 
most BBM users also use WhatsApp which can be downloaded for free on both iOS and Android devices

Quick question: 90% of the time i'm at home with my wifi turned on for downloading apps etc etc. now i see that the connection is passive (always on) is there a way to make it turn off after, say, 5min of wifi inactivity?

also, where can you download some cool themes/skins? i thought HTC Hub would have more than what it has

Hi, this may help. Go to Settings, wireless networks, then WiFi settings push Menu then advanced. You can set the WiFi sleep policy to 15 minutes, hope that helps.

I had this problem too, I just got people with BBM to use google talk instead :D

I love the grip of my Desire HD in my hand!

Now it just needs the 1930 mAh battery that the Motorola Atrix is sporting, cos I'm simply unable to leave my phone alone. :love:

Something is definitely up with my DHD. I left it at home this morning with a 100% charge at 11-ish and I returned at 5 pm to find it with 5% battery life remaining :wtf:

I know what my problem is - me. :)

When my phone warns me that there's only 15% juice left, the uptime is almost the same as "time since unplugged" and screen = 80% - proof that I can't leave it alone. :D

*I switched off wifi and battery life nearly doubled. Oh, and the GPS that was constantly updating the Locations widget.

I bough a Iphone XXL belt clip pouch from MTN store. It fits perfectly. I though it was a bit tight at first but it is actuall a superb snug fit. (Its like the "Reiko Leather Pouch" in link). Cost me R169.00 and will do me until something better arrives. The reall Mcoy for will be a flip open HTC case see http://www.brighthub.com/mobile/mobile-accessories/articles/93022.aspx

Yeah but it's not whatapp. It only been since today that the battery power went so haywire. I think it's evernote that I installed yesterday. Will investigate!
 
Took a look on GMSarena, the SGS and DHD have very similar dimensions (like not more than 3-4mm deviation across any given dimension)

So it should be ok then to get a SGS pouch for the DHD? they sell tonnes of em around here, no need to wait for deliveries.

i would really like the docking station though

I didnt want to install evernote, cos it needs access to your system log files. WTF?? Well, it basically wants access to everything on your phone, which looked dodgy to me.

I installed Colornote instead and very happy with it.
