Also have this issue. Its quite soft. Even the hands free kit isnt that great.
 
Do you actually get a notification when new email arrive?

The green light flashes, but no sound - and I have configured a notification sound for new mail.

Ah!! Found the solution myself. :)

Go to the mail client -> Menu -> Settings -> Notification Settings & make sure "Notification Sound" is checked.

My problem was that I didn't get the settings tab on the Menu button, cos I've got more than one email account. You need to click on each defined Mail account & you will see the Settings tab under "More".

Sorted! ;)
 
Hi all!

I'm currently using a BB Torch and has been a faithful BB user for a while.

I've now got an upgrade coming up and I'm very keen to get the Desire HD.

What I want to know is, Gmail email, does it come through to your phone instantly (push) like on BB or not?

Remember that Android = Google. So it works well with all their products. The Gmail push mail is even quicker than my Blackberry was!

It integrates nicely with Chrome on your PC too...
 
just a quick question to all the people that got their accessories from ebay...how safe is it???i see that the sellers are from hong kong so can they be trusted???also, how long did it take to arrive??

Ordered my 14 piece accessory kit on the 8th of December. Got it this Monday (17th January). Don't know if it just took longer because of the holidays. (They claim 30 days)

Quality of the stuff: Good, no complaints

Actually just got if for the battery (1500 mAh) but now also using the other stuff.

For the price, you cant beat it, 14 piece for about R260
 
I also buy from Ebay all the time. Look for high ratings. That usually helps!
 
cool cool...found a 16 piece kit for $30 with free shipping...n the seller has high ratings so i think im gonna go for it...seems very cheap for all the stuff u get

is there not something available from the china mall or the plaza in joburg???going there in a few weeks so i might just buy my accessories then.

What difference does the 1500mAh battery make?

I don't think I'd put a cheap battery in my phone...
