HTC DESIRE HD

Its a bit annoying that some screens don't rotate, i.e. the home screen, password screen, app screen etc.
 
This phone is annoying! Takes all the attention from me!!! ;)

I visit people, they see the phone and forget all about me!!! It's happening too freqeuntly now: "what phone is that! Can I see it! Can I play all 150 downloaded games on it while u sit and twiddle ur thumbs!". Can't people get their own??!!!
 
Any1 here have a Martin fields screen protector for their DHD? Getting mine tomorrow ... hope its not too bad.

Used a cheapo while I ordered mine from expansys - almost worn it through!
 
VERY ANNOYING BUG!

As soon as an SMS arrives, i.e. Internet Banking - and I immediately delete it - it deletes the last collection of messages in my inbox, not the message I selected :eek: :wtf:

Sounds scary!! I will see if I can replicate it.

Ok, but here's the workaround : DO NOT delete an Internet Banking sms immediately. Leave it till later. :)

True that! Also had a "crowd" tackling me when they saw my phone.

I normally tell all the berry users to stand back, cos this is a real phone. :p
 
Hey guys, well this is my first post as you can see, but amazingly iv been following this thread everyday since it was like 3pages old. Finally did get my DHD in december after weeks of trying and trying and i dont think i have to tell you guys... This phone is F...ing AMAZING!!!! I spend more surfing the net using the phone than i laptop these days lol.

BTW I really recomend getting Dolphin Browser HD from the market, its way way faster than the stock browser, has customisable gestures and add-ons.. my fav being able to convert any page to a hi-res pdf directly from the browser.

And heres a couple other apps/games i really find useful and enjoy...

1. Alchemy. game thats really got me addicted

2. Aldiko. Ebook reader thats way more feature packed than stock reader

3. Handcent Sms.

4. Liveprofile and Whatsapp (our answer to bbm.. and its cross platform)

5. MiGuide (S.A TV guide for the whole week, including DSTV channels)

6. Privacy Guard ( Protect and lock out any app from prying eyes.. mail, messages etc)

7. Smart tools and Unit Converter (really cool tools for converting between units.. km to miles/ kg to pounds etc and even rand exchange)

8. tTorrent (download your torrents directly on ur phone)

9. Any lastly and def my favourite.. Smart Taskbar (eliminate folders and shortcuts from your screen completely!!! click a lil tab and it opens a launcher with all your favourite apps, and easily skip between you own predefined catagories. Check it out I'm sure it will be a favourite aswell.

So ya.. my first and sure a most boring post lol. but anyway hope you guys find some of the apps usefull.

Btw Shads.. I believe you had some spare screen protectors available... let me know.

OK, i couldnt wait for the pouch + screen protector to arrive... officially using the phone from today :)
So in the meantime, anybody got a spare "glasses pouch" for me... u know the old ones made from leather that grannies keep their spectacles in?
I think the DHD will fit nicely in there! N plus it might even come with a nice cloth to clean the phone with :P

Very annoying... been wondering where my messages were going...it seems to always delete the last thread of messages.

Think I might have to invest in one of these cases.

Tonight I opened the front door while holding the phone in my hand, so I thumped the screen hard into the metallic door handle. No scratches.

The Desire HD is one tough customer. :)
 
here's a lill off topic for you guys ... i was running through some new phone reviews and came across the
dell streak which I've been following for a while already but didn't really check out the specs until yesterday
when i read that it actually has a Gorilla Glass display ... after reading that i kept thinking to myself Y doesn't
my DHD have thaaaat!!!!

if we had that Kingrob wouldnt have freaked out when his phone hit the door or any of us dropping the poor
phone as we kinda tend to do.

The Desire HD does not have a gorilla glass screen (can't get confirmation anywhere), but it seems to be a tough customer. Not sure I want to stab my phone's display with a pen (like they did with the Dell Streak) to try and find out how durable it is, but I think we'll be suprised.

Now get that screen protector pronto! :)
 
Anyone using an Anti-glare screen protector? My current one is great for protection, but driving a convertible, its like looking in a mirror.
