HTC DESIRE HD

I also like the new keyboard, the first one you posted also kept crashing on me.

It is really cool! My Desire HD is fantastic to use now.

*The "Gingerbread keyboard" was just pulled straight from Android 2.3 by the dev, whereas "Keyboard from Android 2.3 by Steven Lin" was optimized by the dev to work properly with Froyo.

Dropped mine on the tarmac...got a a few scratches in the top left corner - the brown has become silver - and two minor scratches on the back....but everything is still working perfect.

It's got some character now. :)

Excellent!

Enjoy your new phone! :)

*And don't forget to install the "Keyboard from Android 2.3 by Steven Lin" from the Android Market!

Could you please tell me what makes the gingerbread keyboard better?

I did install it but I now need to teach the dictionary all over again. This becomes irritating as I type a lot of my SMEs in afrikaans.

It is a lot easier to type with. Keys are bigger and the flow more intuative. Use it for a while and you'll understand :)

Kingrob, you keep making our masterpiece even better! Thanks! And keep playing with your toy - we enjoy the outcome!!! ;)

Well, I have made only one or two errors with it, whereas I struggled with the default HTC keyboard. Maybe my fingers were just too big for it, but I can type perfectly with the Android 2.3 keyboard.

**Just a note : I first posted about the "Gingerbread keyboard", but it's rubbish. Crashed constantly on my phone & I uninstalled it. However, the "Keyboard from Android 2.3 by Steven Lin" is the one you want & the one I use. It's brilliant.

My issue with this keyboard is that when I'm on a website typing I experience loads of lag and im forced to switch to the standard keyboard. Anyone else getting this?

I've experienced no issues with lag in the browser...

kvi!! I remember! I was cheesed off with my SonyEricsson P990i & couldn't believe SE gave me a "smartphone" with 64MB RAM. I could never use that phone for more than phone calls or sms. But we had some good constructive conversations. ;)

Yeah, I got an iPhone 2 years ago, but hated iTunes & the fact that for anything you wanted to do on your phone, you needed Apple's permission. Crazy & scary.

With my Desire HD, I'm free to do what I want, download from where I want - and just enjoy this great phone.

I think the main difference for me between iOS & Android is the App Store vs Android Market. So many great apps on the Market for free, whereas for any useful app on the Apple App Store (not talking about the Fart Lite app), you had to get your credit card ready.

*Enjoy your Nexus S and Gingerbread. :)

I've opened Standard Bank's web site on my phone now (built-in web browser), went to Online Banking & successfully logged in....without any lag.

Let's try and reproduce the problem you had, so give me a pointer as to which web site/s lag. If it's the same for all of us, might be best to contact the dev. Did you have a lot of apps running in the background?
