The DHD has quite an advanced chip http://pdf.eccn.com/pdfs/Datasheets/Broadcom/BCM4329.pdf which can support FM Tx as well 5Ghz WiFi (802.11a)
No one has been able to tap into that resource (yet)

Any of you have your babies insured?
Quotes I have are:
MTNSP = R103/m
Budget = R74/m
"With this policy, you are insured against most kinds of cellphone damage or loss – anywhere in the world!
You are covered for:
• theft;
• smash and grab;
• accidental loss;
• accidental damage; and
• even water damage."
In the ~8 years I have had contract phones, two were damaged beyond use and none lost/stolen. Prepaid phone before then have been stolen. Damaged phones were conveniently within a month of upgrade when they got nailed.
So, considering all that, over the years my premiums would no be equal to a decent phone. The problem now is that at R7k, this thing will put a serious dent in my wallet, more than the premiums work out to over time I think...

PS. How not to damage a phone:
1. When a mosquito keeps you up at night, take the time to nail it properly. Don't take a swing at it with your pillow. Sleep deprivation and blurry eyesight = pillow hitting the bedside light, which in turn creams into the phone on bedside table. Equals smashed screen.
2. When letting your significant other use the phone, ensure they know which way the charger goes in. The SonyEricson chargers of old were terrible things- force it in the wrong way and the whole thing goes poof.[/useless_info]

guys do your screens on the right hand
side have a visible black part on the
actual screen inside? the screen is not
equal on both sides. the left side has
pixels till the black border , but the right
side has pixels till a black line then the

No, not at all! Definitely an equal border on all sides.

I had my iPhone insured with Santam & the monthly payment was R120, for a phone value of R8500.
Will phone them for a quote on the Desire HD.

I need some help: 2 days ago I notices my car mode kept going on and off, this went away when I set the Auto-launch to off under Dock settings (could be related to the problem).
The problem I have now is every time I make or answer a call the loudspeaker automatically turns on. I keep deafening myself. I can't find any settings that could be responsible for this.
I have restarted the phone, removed battery ect. Really don't wanna do a hard reset (not even sure it would fix the problem)
Anyone having the same problem? Anyone got a solution or idea?

I would muck around with the car panel settings, or put it back on auto & see if the loudspeaker still comes on.
