HTC Mteor MMS not working(Vodacom)

This whole situation is weird. Obviously it is not my phone that is faulty. Obviously it is not my line cause it works 100% in my Nokia phones. Obviously it is not the cab file, cause it works in your friends phone (if he is Vodacom). What does that leave? IC suggested i try a 32k sim...i dont see how that could make a difference. I normally suggest to my customers to upgrade from a lower to a higher sim, for instance from a 32 to 64k sim. I wish V3G would also reply...maybe he has got a idea from the network side of things?

I've seen in some cases that 64k SIMS do some wierd things in certain devices(rarely happens), and when a 32k SIM is popped in everything is Hunky Dory.

Ja my "Friend" is Vodacom. He works in a Vodashop as a sales consultant.

The best way to see if it makes a difference or not, is simply to try it and see - there are examples of 64k & 128k SIM Cards causing problems in various threads in several forums, I'm not saying it is definitely the problem in your case, but it is one more step to follow in a process of elimination...

I guess I will do that then 2moro. If that does not work...then i dont know what else to do. Will definately let you guys know. Thanks for all your help so far...it is a great site this...glad i discovered it.

PM me your number. Let me try sending you an SMS.

LOL i dont think i'll get it. In the MMS i sent you i put a message saying i sent it from Vodacom4me, and i realised now after reading your messages here and checking on v4me that v4me doesnt have an Inbox.

I wonder if it will get delivered to the Number i registered with?

@ocleroux, normally we welcome new forumites to the forum just after their first post, sorry :o, welcome to MyBroadband :).

The MMS will get delivered to your phone yes. 4me is just a interface to send with to utilize the free mms's, but if you send mms/sms it will come up with your normal cell number that can be replied to and it will be delivered then to you phone.

Thank you IC for the warm welcome. I have to say...i have spent a big deal reading posts on here...interesting the comments, ideas and complaints customers have. It is a cool way for people to get information.

This is the same setup my colleague had. Initially it couldnt even send MMS's. I fiddled with it and did this...

I then sent one from his phone, it sent and came through and could be viewed. Didnt even have to download.

I then sent one from my phone. Same thing, received and could view it.

I also tested a 32k sim as suggested but no cigar.
Just to double check, are you able to send & receive MMSes using that 32k SIM Card from a different phone? - in case there any any MMS APN provisioning issues or whatever is involved.

Nope...could not receive. I have tested 3 different Vodacom sims in this phone now, and each gives the same problem. But MTN sims works 100%

well...he has not posted a reply here for a while now. So i dont know what he can do. All i know is that I am now sitting with a phone that I will be paying for for the next 2 years that is not working as it should and no one seems to know why or how to fix it. I have voiced my opinion to V3G that i can not understand how a phone was released on VC that is obviously giving issues ont the network. Sigh.

v3g suggested that Iam3G attempts to assist you, which Iam3G has been doing, I expect v3g will post again when he catches up with this thread.

okie dokie. V3G said that he is aware of issues with HTC and MMS on Vodacom if i recall correctly...so I am not sure what more can be done.

I do appreciate you guys trying to help though. It is just so frustrating.
