Launching in SA this week it seems. Lots of buzz on the HTC SA Facebook page.
Some prices on Autopage website. R389 p/m on Cell C Autopage for Straightup 100. Hmmm...

Does that come with 1gb data as with the s4?

Nope. Its via Autopage and not from Cell C directly. So its only the Straightup 100 bundle of 100MB. Bleh. I wonder if this can be topped up though?

I dont know if its worth the extra money over the S4.

I first want to know if there is a HTC service centre in the Western Cape, before I will ever buy a HTC phone again.

Waiting for Cell C deals.

Look at it this way though:
iPhone 5 @ Cell C on straight up 200: R399 per month including 200 minutes, 200 sms and 200mb.
S4 @ Cell C on straight up 100: R399 per month including 100 minutes, 100 sms and 1000mb

Frankly as much as I dont like Apple products, the iPhone 5 is the better deal of the 2 because I dont need 1000mb, I'd need more free minutes.

R389 per month without even the extra data sounds expensive compared to the other 2, and you get a worse screen and no menu button. I love the build quality though.

Bad Idea to dish the One \o_o/

The fanbois will be out in droves now!

I'm actually considering changing from MTN to Vodacom in order to get my hands on this device.

Any have experience changing from MTN to Vodacom? Am I looking for a world of pain? - Price and Service?

Should I wait on Cell C? From what i gather their prices are decent, but coverage not nearly as good as MTN and Vodacom.

Anyone else in the same bandwagon?

Ya, kinda, although the reverse of your situation. Am currently with MTN after leaving Vodacom because I felt they were ripping me off. Also feel like MTN is ripping me off. :P So am really struggling to decide between Cell C (bad data reports) and Telkom Mobile (poor coverage).

It's really difficult to make a decision. Every provider has their downsides.

This is the same deal I got on my S4, so one would think CellC would have a similar deal.

My HTC Desire S (my first smart phone) has started giving me hassles for a few weeks now. I hate contracts, but I'm not sure about the One. The one, X, or S4 (even S3) would be a perfect upgrade.

I love CellC but their network is ****.

I am also cosidering this. Has 3 MTN contracts that expired in last month. Really thinking on relocating to Voda & keep my numbers.

Looks like it might happen.

Gave Vodacom Shop @ Vodaworld a shout. They are expecting warehouse arrival tomorrow, with shop arrival Friday/Monday.

I see Cell C just made a post in another thread stating that they still cannot confirm if they are going to stock the phone.

So if you want the HTC One on a contract, Vodacom seems the answer right now.

Please let me know if the change to VC went smooth.

Apparently there are no HTC Ones available. They have all been pre-allocated. The next shipment arrives end of month.

Anyone been lucky enough to get one? Where and how?
