Hmmm...watched this review. Glad I did. If I was going for looks, this phone would be it...but I'm not...so it isn't. Not that I'm looking for a new phone right now, but if I was...I would have to go with either the N4 or the S4, my opinion, of course. Still a good watch, though.
Ok, so I watched the review. Entertaining and I like his enthusiasm but let me give everyone the highlights...
The guys says a number of positives about the HTC, really...a lot of positives
Screen
Boomsound
Good camera
Great hardware
Great design
Cool features
Great battery life
These are the main ones
The stuff that's bad
-The curve because he can't type with the phone flat on a table:what:
-Sometimes the camera doesn't remember settings
-The htc logo on the front
-The position of the volume rocker and power button
- stutter that he says he can see but most people won't :what:
- the kicker though, hiss absolute big hate...that it isn't stock android.
These stuck out for me
He moans for about half the video that htc sense 5 is there. I find this to be a little irritating actually. If you want a stock android phone, go for the nexus. Every other android phone, LG, Sony, Samsung, HTC etc has a layer over stock android. Does that mean that the nexus is better than every phone out there? For him maybe but for me definitely not. HTC Sense 5 is simply beautiful, smooth, simple, elegant, unobtrusive. I have no idea what he's on about. There is no stutter, sure every so often my phone is doing a billion things and there's a slight teeny jump but I really don't consider that "stutter". My ipad stutters more than my htc (which doesn't stutter)
I've used my sisters Note 2, my brothers S4, dad's iPhone 5 etc and I can say without a doubt the HTC, as a phone has so much more character and is an absolute dream to use. It may not be packed with gimmicks to keep you occupied waving your hand "like a magician" but for me, that's not how I rate a phone.
One thing that I do agree with him, one handed use just isn't that easy or comfortable if you're lying down. Sitting up, it's not too bad. Not the greatest but I've become used to it.
So in short, he prefers the nexus because it's stock android...
