HTC One is here?

I'm on day 5 of owning the HTC and I swear that the user experience destroys the S4.

Removable battery and sd card shouldn't be of concern. A battery pack along with 32GB should neutralise that issue.

As for accessories, I always order from overseas and have been doing so for the past 3 years. Best part is that even with delivery costs, it's cheaper ordering internationally, not to mention the bigger range of products that exists.

Before you commit to the S4, give the HTC a whirl. It will win you over easily.

what sites do you order from ... gonna need some goodies once i get my one :}

I'm also curious as to where you order from? Expansys was my go to site for my HTC Senseation...

i used to go with them but they tend to be a bit pricey, then takealot came and i got everything from them
but they no longer get import goodies :{

I go through expansys, clove, mobilefun or eBay. I'm using clove.co.uk at the moment and the experience is quite good so far.

Ta.

Shipping prices from mobilefun are very good! How do they compare to Clove? So many awesome cases and stands for my future HTC :D

Hmmm...watched this review. Glad I did. If I was going for looks, this phone would be it...but I'm not...so it isn't. Not that I'm looking for a new phone right now, but if I was...I would have to go with either the N4 or the S4, my opinion, of course. Still a good watch, though.

I haven't watched the review but you really can't base your opinion on just one negative review when nearly every other site has positive opinions in addition to some sites giving it the best phone ever award.

I can similarly do a search for a number of negative galaxy reviews.

I'm in a hotel right now so minimal bandwidth but tomorrow I'll watch the video. Interested to see what he found bad about the phone.

I wouldn't say it's a "negative" review. It all depends on what's important to you as a user. What I do appreciate about the review, though, is that he gives his real-life day to day experience with it -let's face it, that's what you'll be living with, as a user.
There are definitely positives to take away from the review, but as with everything else, there are some "negatives" -once again, depending on what's important to you as a user :)
(To me, the android "experience" trumps things like speakers and a metal case -but that's just me :) )

This guy, Chris Pirillerolirorirorir (or whatever :D ) used to bug me because he is (used to be?) such a apple fan. After watching a few of his reviews though, you soon realize that he's just being blatantly honest about his experiences and 9 times out of 10 I'd find myself agreeing with him -even when I didn't want to.
But yeah, I guess it all depends on what exactly you're looking for in a phone. :)

Ok, so I watched the review. Entertaining and I like his enthusiasm but let me give everyone the highlights...

The guys says a number of positives about the HTC, really...a lot of positives
Screen
Boomsound
Good camera
Great hardware
Great design
Cool features
Great battery life
These are the main ones

The stuff that's bad
-The curve because he can't type with the phone flat on a table:what:
-Sometimes the camera doesn't remember settings
-The htc logo on the front
-The position of the volume rocker and power button
- stutter that he says he can see but most people won't :what:
- the kicker though, hiss absolute big hate...that it isn't stock android.
These stuck out for me

He moans for about half the video that htc sense 5 is there. I find this to be a little irritating actually. If you want a stock android phone, go for the nexus. Every other android phone, LG, Sony, Samsung, HTC etc has a layer over stock android. Does that mean that the nexus is better than every phone out there? For him maybe but for me definitely not. HTC Sense 5 is simply beautiful, smooth, simple, elegant, unobtrusive. I have no idea what he's on about. There is no stutter, sure every so often my phone is doing a billion things and there's a slight teeny jump but I really don't consider that "stutter". My ipad stutters more than my htc (which doesn't stutter)

I've used my sisters Note 2, my brothers S4, dad's iPhone 5 etc and I can say without a doubt the HTC, as a phone has so much more character and is an absolute dream to use. It may not be packed with gimmicks to keep you occupied waving your hand "like a magician" but for me, that's not how I rate a phone.

One thing that I do agree with him, one handed use just isn't that easy or comfortable if you're lying down. Sitting up, it's not too bad. Not the greatest but I've become used to it.

So in short, he prefers the nexus because it's stock android...

Personally I find stock Android rather boring and flat, I just don't get the hype around it except prompt updates for Nexus phones.

Two words "mooi gese" ... That's what i've picked up as well!he has more positive points about the phone ..

the only thing that does run true for me was the fact about the buttons being hard to find and
after more than 2yrs with my DHD where they tried this also its annoying having to feel or them
all the time but thats it, im looking forward to everything else!

Well i went to most SP

Only Vodacom is offering(but we all know that)

MTN and 8ta had a good point"This phone was announce for some time now and Vodacom is already stocking it,so it's not likely we will be offering it cause we usually offer it the same time the rest of the SP do"

Cell C never got back to me.. Autopage can givie it to me for R389 on Cell C..BUT quit a lot of people complain about their service ect..

So Vodacom will be keeping this price high as long as they want to.. :/

same as before

This is exceptionally disappointing ... looks like this is my last few months with MTN Then, will rather
save and buy the phone and move SP.

I don't see how that is a good point. That is ****ing stupid if it's true. They either assume none of their customers want the phone or are willing to let their customers move to competitors.

Have they released anything official regarding the phone or are you making assumptions?

Even when Voda had the [-]iPhone[/-] S4 first MTN still offered it eventually.

Not assuming

After speaking to 5 MTN sales personnel.. they all told me that they have heard nothing about this phone coming to their network anytime soon..

So maybe it is coming the MTN ...but doesn't look like anytime soon

EDIT;Or MTN doesn't keep their staff up to date ..
