Did you get yours with MTN? I'm very keen for the White but the more I wait the more I just want to get it even if it's grey. What's your honest opinion on the grey?

Did you get yours with MTN? I'm very keen for the White but the more I wait the more I just want to get it even if it's grey. What's your honest opinion on the grey?
Nothing else with the deal... No data... But I was more interested in the 240 minutes and paying R600 for a high end phone was a no brainer... Will have to get a 250MB data bundle for another R100 or so... Yes, they did mention I have to wait 2 weeks.... Hopefully sooner though has the guy said 2weeks is a worst case scenario...
That sounds pretty awesome. If only the colour could be chosen lol. Is the R600 just an additional once off payment?
Because I had a look at their deals and it seems that it's more than that?

The auto page guy did say pay in was R2400 normally but they want to retain me as a customer and offer me the best deal possible hence te R600 once off! Was a no brainer...

That's awesome! Yea, definitely a no brainer.. R600 once off for a phone like that!! Did you have contracts with them before?

Just one contract with them and that was a talk 120s package... The guys in retentions offer the best deals.. Better than any of the auto page shops.... Asked him to confirm in writing just so that I could see that the deal was true...lol

Phone is really good, I am absolutely loving it! I've been using it quite a lot and the battery has lasted me 12-14 hours, but I wouldn't expect much more than that on moderate usage. Screen is really really good and it feels amazing in the hand, but coming from the desire it took a little going used to but now I won't go back.
For the other guy asking about the grey one, it looks really good but from the pics ive seen the white one looks a bit better
White does look absolutely lovely, but the grey is growing on me every minute I've had it.

I'm getting similar battery life ravage, but i notice that essentially, when the screen is off, it drains at a ridiculously low rate, perhaps 1% every two hours. It's only when the screen is on that the battery levels actually take a hit. Which means that I can probably get 2,5 hours screen-on time(I always use 100% brightness) whether I use that over 12-14 hours like you, or even 20-30 hours.
Completely agree about the change coming from a desire after nearly 2 years, takes a little getting used to.
Some first impressions:
The display is absolutely stunning
The sound is much better than on the desire, whether beats audio is enabled or not. Speaker is much less tinny sounding
I've not yet received the 1.29 update, which makes me tempted to just go ahead and try a custom ROM.
There's a ton of apps that need to be "disabled" fresh out the box, too much bloatware HTC. We have access to the play store, let US decide what we want.
Overall I'm still a happy chappy. Hoping a custom kernal will improve my battery stats slightly, but 2.5 hours screen-on time is ample for my average daily usage.
Wow those stains on the white One X are quite bad! I will probably get a cover for mine anyway though, hopefully one that adds a slightly raised border around the screen. I used one with the Desire and if dropped flat and face down it just bounces and the screen doesn't take a hit.
I also noticed the very low battery drain when the screen is off! But i also noticed some bugs with the battery reading where it will sometimes not update the battery level correctly (I think I read it was a known problem that HTC will try to fix, but as of 1.28 it is definitely still happening)

can someone tell me how you configure whatsapp to have some kind of notifications on the home screen (locked).
From what I cans see there is no way to see you have a message, you HAVE to unlock the phone... crazy...
then, www.sportlemon.tv doesnt work. It should work on android no problem? It works on the Samsung S2 but it just comes up with the page and then "looking for plugin" in both the video windows and the chat window... fail...

Maybe its this message notification bug although that is for the 4g version.
