HTC One X

When you plug it into a USB port it will ask you on the phone if you want it to be Mass Storage or something like that and it works like a regular flash drive thereafter.

Thanks needed to clear that up. Read somewhere that it needed software installed, will be getting mine asap.

I can highly recommend Swiftkey 3. Amazing keyboard with the best predictive text, layout and customization I've come across. Its still in beta phase so its free and you will need to register on the forum to download it (vip.swiftkey.net/). I have been using it extensively for a while and haven't experienced any issues as a result of it being in beta.

Wow. I've been a user of Swiftkey 2.2 for ages and isntalled v3 last night. Holy cow! What an improvement! I havent had to retype a word yet and I'm loving the way it fixes missed spacebar mistakes.

Hi All,

Vodacom confirms an ETA by end of June for the HTC One X :)

eish,thats not good
which mtn you got it from?
you from jhb?
how did you test the wifi issue? like it says in the thread?
what firmware version you using?

mtn corporate durban
used wifi analyser. installed on both htc desire and htc one x and the one x's wifi is actually unusable. i have the router in my office about a meter away from me and it still drops all the time. not sure whats happening to be honest.

latest. 1.29

also, htc rep has confirmed that they have an issue but not sure what it is or how to reproduce it in Taiwan. if you squeeze between the camera and the volume rocker the signal bumps up nut when you release it is goes back to terrible levels.

Now, it makes sense as to why my apps were not updating as i have it to update over wifi only.

Can you post your IMEI or batch number, we would assume certain batches of the One X have this issue.

Hi All,

Yep I also received the same feedback, but no news with regards to the prices or contracts:

As per feedback from our Procurement Department, the estimated arrival of the HTC One X handset is at the end of June.

Kind Regards

serial number is HT24HW100674

apparently HT24HW as well HT23 and HT22 and HT25 could have the issues but it also depends on the numbers after HT24 eg) HT24HW seems a problem but HT24LW seems ok...

Will try to avoid that batch if i can....

My HOX is HT24HW and the WIFI is fine on it. Can get reception way outside my house. Actually better than my old SGS 2

Hey guys, I'm the proud owner of a new One X.
Awesome phone, I see my serial number starts with HT243W... I think I have the WiFi problem, the phone drops signal strength when I put it flat on its back, I'm tethering my desire hd though, so want to test it on a proper router first.
Any tips welcome.

Does anyone know which is the current cheapest "dump the SIM" contract? i.e. Take the contract (any network) and put the SIM in the safe and just pay off the phone over the 24 months. Vodacom's cheapest for the SIII is R319pm but they don't have the One X and I'm leaning towards One X and tempted to migrate over to Samsung... it's a 51% / 49% situation :D

I'm hoping to find some kind of Top Up 30 package or something tiny where I can pay a total of R250odd a month for the contract + phone over 24 months. Any suggestions? It's either that or a gumtree one for R5k.
