I was lucky. most of my items (about 11) arrived within two weeks.

Anyone noticed how incredibly easy thid supposedly Gorilla glass scratches? I treat my phone well - don't have screen protector or cover yet, but I didn't deem it necessary after the hard life my Galaxy S i9000 had. The screen still looks pristine (with no visible scratches), even after numerous drops, slides and being in bags and pockets for 2 years.

My One X is now a week old, has been alone in a dedicated soft cellphone "pouch" in my leather satchel every day, yet there are 3 ugly, yet thin, scratches faintly visible when the screen is off. I'm very disappointed, to say the least. Starting to regret my decision taking this over the S3... The phone feels laggy and stuttery compared to a stock S3 and the screen's glass seems of inferior quality as well. Oh well, guess I'm stuck on this until the S5... :(

Not so fast with the S3 stuff, that phone is weak as hell. Very poor screen strength. Many reported scratches and crack from knee hight. The S3 DOES NOT, I repeat does NOT, have as strong a screen as the SGS1 and SGS2. Google S2 screen test and see how a phone screen should be.

I think Samsung made it to thin, maybe they pulled an "Apple" over our eyes, aka phone falls, screen breaks, rather buy new 1 than replacing it, = an extra sale.

IMHO its not HTC or Samsung who are at fault. It's Corning (Gorrilla glass manufacturers). As the story goes the OneX and the S3 are both fitted with Gorilla glass 2 which is supposed to be stronger and thinner... As far as thin goes I agree... Strength wise its far from better... And Corning should be taken to task!

My screen is still perfect after several drops on tar and tiles. Maybe I'm just lucky?
Jellybean with working radio, wifi, sound now available for HOX. I'm waiting for a few more releases so that bugs are ironed out.
2 reasons to upgrade : high quality contact photos. smoothness.

You must be lucky. Or I'm just unlucky. :(

I'm guessing it's JB on a custom ROM, not official Sense from HTC?

also bought a spy pen and glasses (for about $30)

My screen (both phones) was also quite resistant. I had my keys with it in my pocket and when I pulled it out, I though that it was going to be severely scratched but there was nothing at all.

Hi there, HOX user here. I seem to have this problem, when i connect my phone to the PC so i can use the internet from PC(Iburst), everything is fine, except i cant download anything, Email (Google) and browsing, Facebook etc is all fine, just cant download, for example, browsing the App store no problem, but soon as i install something and it starts to download, it just hangs and sais "Waiting for Network", if anyone can help, would be appreciated thank you.

I was under the impression the S3 was gorilla glass 2, while the one x was still the original gorilla glass. Regardless, my One X has a few tiny scratches already on the screen, but it's only noticeable to me because I know exactly where they are. My desire, on the other hand, is actually less scratched (almost none). And I am more careful with the one x than I ever was with the desire... Very strange to me.

Anyway, I would have thought that there would be covers/cases available locally by now, but lab 88 stores and mtn/vodacom/cell c stores all have nothing. There's plenty of galaxy s3 (and s2, and galaxy gio, pocket, y) covers in the cell providers stores though... I have to say, samsung really brought their A game with the S3 marketing. I've seen 3 large stands showing off the S3 in both colours in a single mall near me.

honestly htc are crap with after sales service and accessories in s.a
i also looked for a case.to no avail. i bought one from expansys rather. leaf and lab88 are usless. official stockists for htc, but they have nothing at all for htc's flagship device? utter BS

yip HTC after sales is SA is really really poor as HTC is done through Leaf.co.za and my experiences with them in the past were painful at best, so that and the wifi antenna issue (pre XX26IXXXX...) Serial numbers will force me to miss the HTC One X, think the post XX26IXXX S/N's with the wifi antenna fix will be better but after sales is an issue, since one has the phone for 2 years or so. That being said I'd take the HTC One X above the S3 (just cos I hate the rounded corners of the S3, looks like a squashed mouse), I took the plunge and went with the Sony Xperia S, highest res screen on the market (really gorgeous at 342ppi), so far I think its bril.

So after about 2 months with the phone, I noticed some things. The stock htc sense launcher is not as good as it should be. Using Nova or Apex, it absolutely flies, but not so with sense. Another thing, the multi-tasking could be better. If I try to switch back to an app that I opened a few minutes ago, but already opened a few other apps, it almost always feels like it reloads the app from scratch (sometimes it doesn't even load to where I was in the app). I understand this was done for power-saving, but it feels like the phone doesn't have a fully fledged multitasking system in place.

Anyway, because of these issues and the fact that I don't seem to have any WiFi/Screen issues, I decided to go to htcdev.com and unlock it, and then root it :) I am currently running CM10 Preview 5 by Tbalden from xda developers, and am very impressed. Everything works except Wifi direct (which didn't work on stock anyway, or at least not to a galaxy s2). There are some very minor issues like the auto brightness not going up very high, but nothing I can't live with.

For those who are interested, jellybean/CM10 runs incredibly well on this phone. I put the phone through its paces and it never slowed down once. Multitasking also works amazing well now, and google now/voice search, new notifications and all the other jellybean goodies are really great! I was running jellybean on my desire just to test it out, but that build is still in the very early stages and is slow, but still consistent with no crashes at all. CM10 is basically that stock jellybean, but with some really helpful additions to stock (like setting toggles in the notification drawer, etc). If you've used other versions of cyanogenmod, you'll know what I'm talking about. I am very interested in AOKP jellybean though, which I think may appeal more to me.
