HTC One X

ok, the phone is on my desk waiting for the courier to collect.

back to using my old desire. what a HUGE difference. I want my One X back :(

If they give me another HT24 I am going to flip out as I had my phone setup exactly the way I wanted and it took ages.

if they give you another ht24 try it out first
its a hit and miss issue, i know people with ht24 and no issues at all

I refused to try another one. Its a waste of time setting up the phone and driving back and forth to exchange. Apparently the problem doesn't show up immediately in all cases either.

Really bad one by HTC. They should recall old batches and implement the fix, because at the moment lots of people are paying premium prices for faulty phones. Then later down the line the consumer has to carry the cost of sitting with no phone while waiting for repairs.

Love the phone, but this issue has me feeling uneasy about getting another one.

in some cases the wifi issues only occurred after 2 months or so... I think that the issue will occur in most phones, so I will wait (DON'T GIVE IN TO TEMPTATION TO SOON) till the S/N XX27 batch (or later) arrives in SA, mid July I guess, then at least I know the wifi issue IS fixed!!

kind of feel the same but there is no other phone that I want at the moment, not even the SIII. If the lumia 900 was going to get wp8 then i might have got that as well / instead.

yea it is a pain to setup again
they should recall faulty batches but i doubt they will

even if the new batches do come, surely all the stores will only order one phones once their existing stock is finished?
and if we all gona hold out for the new ones, whos gona find the faulty ones?

I don't want another phone either. They gave me the option of the s3 and I nearly took it. Decided against it though.
I might run my contract down and go prepaid then wait for the next release from the various companies.

im due for upgrade 9july but i think i might also wait
rumours htc coming out with a one xxl, it might be true as now they know what the s3 is and they gona try be better
s3 is a great phone tho also.
if my desire S gets ics before 9th july, i might just also wait for htc's next fone

Just make sure your serial number S/R is XX27XX.... then you know you'll be ok, fix was initiated by HTC in mid June 18th I think so earliest S/N with fix will be XX26IXXX anything before 26I WILL have the fault (latent maybe but there), but from 26I on you should be fine.

for those saying its a pain to setup again, are you still running locked bootloaders?

actually which leads me to another question, has anyone returned their phone to mtn after having unlocked their bootloader?

My is a 25, so definitely before the fix was implemented. Still no wifi issues...

Getting used to the bigger size as it is a massive phone - but really great for web and video!

Everything working well - just figuring out calendar invites now (found an app) and trying to find a way to awaken the phone without having to press the 'on' button.

Got the cheap (R30) cover from Expansys in black and it actually wrks pretty well - just a shame to cover up that beautiful One X body :-)

Get the Barely There CaseMate cover from Expansys. It's great!

You can use Sweep2Wake to unlock phone without using the power button, but must be rooted.

I have HT243W since launch and dBm is -50 which is obviously pretty good.
No issues at all for me.

Same for me. No wireless issues yet *touches wood*

Can't wait for Jelly Bean to come out for the One X!

I must say I've been using the Google voice web search as well as the voice-to-text bundled with the swype keyboard and both work pretty well. Typing will son be a thing of the past :)

Boy, this screen is so amazing - my friends can't believe the pictures and HD vids I show them...

you using swype on the one x?

i was still running a locked bootloader, thankfully. phone is gone now. not sure when I am getting it / replacement back.

The google voice typing rarely gets it right - must be an accent thing. The swype voice is close to perfect...
