HTC One X

I had a problem with google voice typing too (set on South African English). I changed it to English (UK) and it works nearly perfectly haha. Very strange, with English (South Africa) it was typing up words that aren't English at all. Also, I've had my One X for almost a month (got it a few days after MTN launched it) and I haven't experienced the WiFi issue yet, hopefully never, but that doesn't look likely...

anyone got a HTC One X from Vodacom yet?? if so what is the serial number (S/N)? thanks

So i took the plunge, have been running ARHD 7.1 with firmware 2.05.401.2 for a few days now. Immediately i noticed an improvement in overall smoothness and battery life.
Of course, as soon as i rooted i installed autostarts, and removed all the unneeded starting of apps for random system events, such as htc hub, etc.
The only mod i flashed is the battery percentage in notification bar mod.
Phone is smooth as butter, battery lasts longer, camera seems to focus better(im about 80% sure of this one), and most importantly multitasking is now a dream.
SO worth it.
Really recommend to any one x owner.

PS : Sonic 4 ep II is THE @#$%. Runs beautifully even with music playing in the background and various other apps running. Have only just begun max payne as well, seems excellent.

Sounds great - enjoy. Also loving the phone but am struggling a bit with battery life (running s/w 1.29.401.11). Any advice or tutorial for non-tech folk on the process and benefits of rooting?

Just installed BeyondPod' which is an awesome podcast app - very smooth and visually appealing!

Man I am keen to install this, but the HTC unlock is putting me off.

Main benefit of rooting is that you can disable system apps that are essentially bloatware such as htc hub etc.
other benefits include removing ads from apps, bypassing licenses for paid apps, etc

anyone hear of any Vodacom stores (Gauteng) that have any stock, I can't find any vodashops with stock...

HT25... Hoping mine doesn't give wifi issues though. Else I'll just bug VC to get it swopped out with newer batch model. I couldn't wait any longer...

I really miss my one x, but I'm glad I returned it.
I bought it because I couldn't wait and the next day the statement about the wifi came out.
That awesome screen spoilt me because now everything else looks crap.
When do you guys think HTC will release their next model? Like a version 2 ala desire HD or sensation XL.

im sure in the next few months we should see another htc

Have you guys started to notice more covers/screen protectors around SA yet?

mtn corporate have returned my phone and ask me to choose a new one. i asked for a white one x and surprise, surprise, no white. ridiculous. anyway, didn't want to go s3 as i have bought most of my accessories already so will make do with the grey one unless anyone knows anywhere I can swop it out? ;)
