HTC Touch Diamond

Yeah, I'm also planning on buying one...as soon as I can sell my Touch.

I found out that it has accelorometer..and a magnetic stylus. When you pull out the stylus the screen goes on. If you pull out the stylus during a call it automatically opens the notes application.


The only thing I'm worried about is that HTC hasn't shown it playing videos, will the Youtube app play video files are we stuck with ole Windows Media Player Mobile :sick:
 
If i'm not mistaken there is a company that is selling them from next week. PM and I can give you details...

oooh... I hope they don't have the same driver issues as the Tytn II. I suspect they will considering they using the same Qualcomm chipset...

Yeah wait for the xperia too then take what wins a 3 way shoot out. I'm not a fan of iPhone. Has it been officially launched in SA yet? The 1st iPhone? I wouldn't underestimate the upcoming N96 either. In fact that's the one I would have...
 
I thought of waiting for the Xperia as well, but on finally getting a response from Sony Ericsson, they said, that they only expect release in SA to be around December. Unfortunately I cannot wait that long, as my contract expires in July.

With the release of HTC Touch Diamond next week, I don't think it will be available on any SA contracts any time soon. Does anyone know if the launch includes SA as well and when we can expect to see the phone on contracts?

This all might force me to upgrade to TyTN II just because I cannot wait that long. And there is no other real competition in this class. Except maybe the E90, but not a big fan (and it is Symbian).

How can Sony Ericsson be competitive with the likes of Nokia and HTC when they so slow to get their flagship handsets out?

I'm due for an upgrade in December so the xperia is on for me but by December HTC and Nokia will have released superior devices which will be under consideration..
 
June?! Never, not that soon. And I can guarantee you now that the new iPhone will not have Office on it, and i highly doubt it will come with a 5MP camera either!

So enjoy your HTC Diamond then.
 
I called Leaf and some chicky in Sales told me they're getting them end July but couldn't give me pricing.
 
i think i'm waiting for the iPhone rather - that thing looks glitchy.

zooming with your fingers making a pinching motion is mutch cooler than turning "a mechanical wheel". the invention of the wheel is so last decade....hell, i'd even go as far as to say "last millenia"
