HTC Touch Diamond

I'm due for an MTel upgrade, currently on procall 150. I really have liked my Imate Jam, and following HTC Tytn 1. On which I push my email and do limited web browsing. What new HTC product is available , pref on MTN, though I'm happy to port, that comes closest to Blacberry functionality?

Well I upgraded my rom, and I haven managed to loose all my contacts. I did a backup with Sprite but when I restore it doesn't restore my contacts. Any ideas?

Though perhaps too late for now, make sure you can always and anywhere get your PIM data (contacts, calendar, mail, sync'd files, SMSs, etc) -- get Microsoft MyPhone. Backup to the cloud. Restore anytime from the web. Free 200MB.

My Dad got the HTC diamond about a month ago and hates it (cant teach and old dog new tricks) So its been passed over to me and he has got another phone.

I got half way through this thread, before realising just how far it goes back. Pretty much most of the things I was taking notes of, are pretyt much out of date.

SO... what would you all suggest is a must load on the phone, what roms are new and so on?

Managed to get all my contacts back after playing with Sprite. I am suprised it doesn't automatically restore contacts. O well just happy I got them back ;)

I would also like to know what cool apps are out there, I haven't really loaded many apps on my phone other than Garmin and one or 2 others.

As for ROMS, if you want to load "cooked" non official ROMS you can, there are some good ones out there apparently. Personally I stick with the official shipped ROMS as the phone is fine speed wise for me. Remember to read and read and read some more before loading a cooked rom, you really don't want to brick your device.

Well I just tried to update the latest official ROM from HTC.. And now the phone says that the ROM is invalid and dead :(

EDIT: Ran the file again.. seems to have worked now

Mine did the same thing - First run finished and said there was an error. Ran it again and worked. Wierd.

One of the nice new features is the slider for incoming calls.
Still busy going thru' the phone and setting up.

I must say I quite like the new slide feature when answering calls. Pretty cool. All in all this ROM is slighly faster than the previous one.

It is amazing how many people out there don't know about the software upgrades available for their phones. Most people are probably running the first ROM's that came with the phone :D

yup that is true. they must actually tell you when you get the phone that there will be upgrades available.

Is it also just me? or does the battery seem to last much longer with the new HTC update?

Oh and where can one download/buy garmin XT?

does anyone else find that their touch diamond loses time?

I kept on noticing that i was getting to work progressively later over a couple of months despite waking up at the same and following basically the same procedure. then i noticed the one time a discrepancy between my computer time and phone. and since setting the time on my phone to my computer time, i've noticed it has again lost time.

and in this period i haven't synced my phone at all to any other computer.

Haven't noticed it happening on mine but the phone does grind to a halt every once in a while (normally after browsing the web using Opera).

What ROM do you have installed?

LOL the same thing happened to me just after I got the phone. I set the time and the next day it was out by 20 min. I couldn't figure out was wrong at first as it was exactly the same as my PC, Each time i reset them and the next day it was out again by 20 min. Finally realised the time server I had setup on my server was out. Changed that and now its all back to normal.

Not that it helps you much, but I do know how you feel
