HTC TyTN / Imate JasJam

Just ordered the TYTN on Procall 600 from Supercall and I had to pay in R999. They only had 7 left but it's still at their warehouse so they must've just received stock.

New contract or upgrade?
 
Upgrade, I used to be on Procall 120 before and went to 600 because of call volumes.
 
Yeah, will have to query my SP about the R2200 price I'll be paying on an upgrade then.

I have been waiting since Feb for the Tytyn / JasJam. My contract expired in Feb, but thought I'd hang on until it eventually arrives. Does this qualify me for the "out of your term date" you were referring to, MTNDD? I'm on a Procall 120. Who can I call in the retentions department?

Just call 808 from your cell and I think on the IVR there's an option for the retentions department

Thanks for this. Now to realistically want to retain me, I need to know what is available? Has this state secret been passed on to you by Midrand yet?

I really don't want to phone the retentions department and ask for a great deal on the i-mate Jasjam only to be told that it is not on their list! That will definitely stuff up my day! :D

Couldnt agree with you more....

If we more proactive we could demonstrate outside MTN Head Office demanding decent service for our money.... I wonder if that would get any attention??

Anyone keen for plackards and lunch on the pavement outside MTN

some options for posters:

MTN first with the hype last with the tech
MTN gauranteed to confuse you
MTN promises to get you the latest phone just before the update is released
MTN Midrand retirement village

so any fixes for the lack of SMS notification when a voicemail is waiting?
I am on MTN and Nashua cannot seem to sort me out.

ALso can anyone help with the MMS settings?

Ok - couldn't help myself so gave 808 a ring. I was told by the very helpful guy on the other end (after confirming things) that stock of the Jasjam (not Jasjar or any other model) was available and that the cost to upgrade would be R2650 which was reduced from R3250 :confused:

Great. I asked to speak to the retensions department as I thought the R2650 was a little steep (same price on all Procall packages for an upgrade, regardless of the plan he informed me). The man in retensions department said the phone was absolutely not available and could not provide a price.

I sort of knew that would happen - I am back in waiting mode again... :rolleyes:
