HTC TyTN / Imate JasJam

Alrighty then ..... the 242 advanced mailbox works ( i havent tested it myself )
for now i have a little patch that gives you the who called SMS but still no voice mail notification ...

That is the original ROM ... connectivity should be fine, quite cool actually ..
does your voicemail notifications work on MTN with that ROM ??
If it does it will make things very interesting ... on Vodacom as it stands with that specific ROM the Voicemail notifications doesnt work ..

thanks for scratching the itch

I have the same ROM version and do not receive voice mail notification on MTN, I had my ROM updated last week from Leaf so its thelatest they have in South Africa, its quite a pain because you have to guess when you have any messages. i hope this wil be sorted shortly

The Guy, what software do you recon is essential that I should get, eg. a goo task manager etc?

Fanks!

difficult to say what is good software .. as this will be specific to end users ..
i take it you are looking for a quick and easy way to clear your running programs that is sitting in Cache yes ???
A program called Magic button automatically does this for you when you close an application ..
What functionality are you looking for?

I've read about the Spb Pocket Plus Today plug-in, apparently quite good. I've tried MS Voice Commander but wasn't impressed - wouldn't recognise the word 'dial'.

I guess I'm open to suggestions.

Can anybody tell me if the Cell C will also have this problem?

In theory yes Cell C should have the same hiccup with the TyTN ... the issue can and will only be resolved by a new ROM .. as it stands the current ROM version only supports the advanced mailbox feature ... i havent tested the advanced mailbox feature myself so i cant comment ... i have been contemplating using the service but i feel i give the networks enuf money as it is

Well if MTN comes with a better deal, they will have me as a new customer. :)

Anyhow that's the 2 cents worth of info I could get......

Thanks

Seems like the TyTn are in stock at VodaWorld in Midrand.

They will ask you to hand over R3500 in addition to a Talk 500 contract.

Bleugh !

R800 a month + R3500 once off to get the TyTn?? Holy:sick:

And i wanted to go for a Business or Frequent caller contract.

No ways.. What they try to do here, compete with telkom or what?
Shattered dreams!
