Hello guys,

When I had Telkom LTE there was a post in Telkom Mobile data about an application you install and then it connects to your router.

It gives you super admin privileges to change anything you wish or want, the thread had settings in it to set your router to a set MHZ that gave insanely fast speeds...

Do any of you know where this thread is? I can't find it.

Kind Regards,
Pieter Uys.

@cavedog can assist with the band tool

There are 2 band tools. The one I attached I do like the most.

Edit huawei_band_tool_config.txt with the correct router IP, username and password then because you are on Telkom and assuming you have a B525 or B618 router these are the files you should be using.

LTE_1800.bat Band 3 LTE only
LTE_1800+2100.bat Band 3 + Band 1 LTE-A
LTE_1800+2100_UPLOAD_1800.bat Band 3 + Band 1 LTE-A Band 3 upload
LTE_1800+2100_UPLOAD_2100.bat Band 3 + Band 1 LTE-A Band 1 upload
LTE_2100.bat Band 1 LTE Only
LTE_2300_TDD.bat Band 40 LTE only and LTE-A

Band 40 and Band 3 + Band 1 LTE-A Band 3 Upload should give the best speeds because they have the most spectrum and joins bands for the best speed but it will depend on the tower and congested. You can't brick your router and if you want to revert back just run LTE_ALL.bat to revert back to 4G Only auto or you can just click 3G only the router UI and then choose from there.

Thanks @cavedog . Changed bands until I found one with the best download and upload speeds.
Very nice the signal strength/quality output that updates about twice a second - for changing/optimizing router position and orientation.

For Rain you should use

LTE_1800.bat Band 3 LTE only
LTE_2600_TDD.bat Band 38 LTE only
@cavedog would you be able to say what the best bands would be to try with MTN on a B818?
I have a B818 that consistently runs at near half the speed of my rather old B618, same location/sim/MTN
