HUAWEI B618 LTE-A router discussion thread.

Good evening

Does anyone know if Vodacom sold the Huawei B618 routers. Is it a 22d or 65d model?

Seller has no invoice as it was received with phone upgrade?

Vodacom and most online stores are selling 22D only Telkom sells 65D

It may be. I know checking balance is done by sending a blank SMS to 188. If you know of any Telkom USSD services, I could try for you. This menu does exist:

That said, there are no commands in that drop-down list but I guess you could manually enter them.

The ones I tried seemed to fail:

I doubt that's modem specific though - could be the Telkom firmware or a Telkom issue.
That second command (*1#) is still 'sending' as I type this. No response.

Under system settings, I've turned auto update off. Don't Trust telkom lol

Ah, so you have the 22d. Did that come from Telkom? I thought they only sold the 65d. That could explain the firmware difference. I wonder if there's a firmware update for the 22d that would give you full access...

I popped the SIM into an old phone we had lying around, bought the bundle (ussd) and put it back into the router. Thanks for all your effort though!

Ah, I get it - yes, buying bundles is a PITA. As far as I know you can do it through Telkom's website if you sign up for the new online management portal, but I stand to be corrected.
