Hi Guys,

Anyone out there with a Huawei IDEOS S7 Slim? I've applied for one on MTN for R99 a month. If anyone can think of a good enough reason not to proceed please let me know. I see the spec for the screen does not look too good but since I've not seen how it actually displays I can't comment.

Thanks in advance.

Got one for a few months now, not bad at all. Screen not brilliant but usable. Sound quality good but volume quite low. Not much wrong with it overall...

Did you load a custom ROM on it or did you keep it stock? Is it good for wathcing movies and reading? I'd like to use it with the Kindle app.

At R99 a month that's an excellent price. One of my Vodacom contracts is expiring next month (Top Up 135). Wonder if I can get it without a pay-in, hmmm?

I believe I saw the S7 slim at HiFi corp at R135 a month ago.

I'm receiving the S7 slim on Wednesday from MTN for R99 a month. Hope I'll enjoy it. Read a lot of conflicting reviews. But for my use I can't justifying paying R400 a month. Reading, movies and music. Also it will make an awesome XBMCRemote :-) Could control the Mars rovers. :-)

Also thinking about getting one of these, want to use it for downloaded pdf magazines, general surfing and VNC work.

Is there anywhere where I can buy just the tablet in SA?

Yea, I also was a bit puzzled when I did the calculations. The price tag was still on the box of mine, that is how I know what it is priced.

The R99-00x24 is by far the best deal if have come across concerning a tablet.

Does anyone know where you can find screen protectors for the S7 Slim in South Africa? Got mine earlier this week on the R99 MTN deal and only problem I'm having is finding accessories for it.

I was in Hi-fi corp yesterday and they had them for R3699 iirc.
