so far i have 2 problems with the device.
1) I don't want all my gmail contacts to be synced, only a certain group, can this be done? use to have the same issue with my cellphone.i think it's a 2.2 problem :-(
2)If i try to install something from the market, i get This app will be downloaded to your device shortly.but nothing happens

Well those are not S7 Slim shortcomings, more a problem with the underlying OS.

1) Contacts sync, if you create a new contact you can specify "Tablet, SIM, or Google" contact. I take it if you create a Tablet or SIM contact it will not be synced with your online Google account. I have not tested this but give it a spin.

2) The second one I have had problems with since the beginning of using Android. The application never gets sent to the phone. This is not a device flaw, rather a Android Market flaw.

Dionwired has the Samsung Galaxy Tab P1010(Wi-Fi) for R1899

I got the tab, my opinion so far is good tab and good special (cell c R99).
The only thing that i am not happy with is that i can't charge via USB.
is there a solution for that?
also,did anyone rooted the device?

It DOES charge via usb! Connect as per data connection - it then charges but ONLY when screen blanks...

Charge it via USB does work, however it takes long, around 8 hours. However, you have to switch the device off completely for it to charge via USB. You will then see a battery icon appear as if charging..

I did not see anyone answering you with regards to rooting, search for "gingerbreak" IIRC on XDA forums, one click root for the S7 Slim.

EDIT:
Received my pouch and screen protector today, very happy camper atm!
:D

MTN PayAsYouGoSim in Ideos S7 Slim

Very nice budget tablet, allows for personal WiFi hotspots so thats quite awesome. Very responsive, one or two hiccups with orientation but all round its excellent.

Just one query, my wife got one and we tried it with a 64k MTN payasyougo sim,. it did not connect to network but when she put her old contract sim in (not 3G) it worked. Any remedies to using the prepaid sim? The MTN call centre is useless.

Thanks @oldhat keen to see if you have any luck with the 64K MTN sim.

Would "resetting" the sim from MTN's side kickstart the 3G activation?

MTN had a problem with my sim in that it was never activated for use on the data network. While I was sorting it out another person with the exact same problem reported it as well, so just make sure that data is enabled on the SIM, if that fails as MTN to test a SIM in-store to see if they can sort it.

Excellent, thanks @MyWorld, will check in-store tomorrow.

Tried MTN prepaid sim, works fine...

Thanks @oldhat, mine probably needs a MTN side reset or something.

Anyone know how far the Ideos can be pushed eg would I be able to play Shadowgun on it?

Sim swap did the trick. Thanks for the help to all. Now for some App Market goodness.
