Huawei IDEOS S7 Slim experience

did u format with fat32 file system ? My sdhc works fine... My wifi still has me stupified tho... Turns out android cant connect to "adhoc" networks... you have to patch it with a wpa_supplicant... Have rooted my device but cant find the original file location to backup before i try.....
 
Haven't made any direct voice call as I was using my Vodacom data bundle sim in my S7, but on the Skype test call, the microphone doesn't seem to work very well - you have to be very close to it for it to record anything.

Anyone else using Skype? The closeness only becomes a problem for video calls, I suppose.

It does work. Tried a Cell C 24 gig sim on a MTN branded unit. Did some Cell C settings and it works perfectly.
 
Can you apply for 2 x this? (MTN contract) What's the criteria?

Urgh. Vodacom, MTN and Cell C do not have it! Can you believe it? They say they have to order first.

When I applied for the MTN contract, it was approved a few days later and they had the device for me - no mention of having to order. But with the special going for R99pm I'm not really surprised though.
 
I think the market is flooded with this device at this stage, and a good thing, we should see some custom roms in the near future.

bloody brilliant price. usb and hdmi outputs as per the pic in the brochure. beats the galaxy in that respect.
 
I haven't tested that memory card till now but after removing that memory card, my tablet is working fine so didn't bother to test it. Took the advise of MyWorld, it has 8GB of space which is sufficient for me. Thanks

I clicked on your link and the "or" before the price isn't showing there. So I asume that the R1498 is the cash portion of the contract and should you take the contract you need to pay that amount???

Edit: sorry, after reading it through a few time I think I understand it now.

EDIT: Again, too quick on the gun. I downloaded the PDF and saw its a promotion thats from the 29th till the 31st. Guess I'm going to find out tomorrow.
