Anyway, my local branch didn't have stock, took out the contract anyway. They gonna get me one from another branch and courier it over, should get it by Thursday. R50/pm not bad.

what branch did u take the contract from?
 
It appears that the stores are under-stocked and have to get the stuff from other branches.What happens when those branches also run out.
I don't like the way this is turning out.
 
At DrYes, did u get yours yet? Can you tell me which jhb branch has stock or is willing to get stock from other branches?
 
hey guys
I had a long chat with one of the sales guys yesterday, he seemed to know what he was talking about

He said as of yesterday it wasnt on the system yet, so even if he had stock he couldnt load the deal, but said it should be sorted by today.

These specials are getting rid of old/dead stock, so once they run out it is very unlikely that they will recieve more stock as this defeats the purpose of the sale. So its definitely while stocks last.

All stores are walk in stores only, you wont be able to phone them and check stock. Im not sure if they can check stock of other branches on their system though.

They will take your name, but the chances are if they didnt have when you went the first time they probably wont get again.

hope this will shed some light and prevent some people wanting to go all CPA on 8ta LOL

Why noy go to CPA or Hellopeter? Nowhere on the brochure is stated that this Hot Deals is subject to: "while stocks last".
Bait marketing, I tell you. Just like Game does from time to time. 8ta should've known they didn't have enough stock, so why go so big on the advertising? Why didn't they limit it to a few stores or something. Just look at all the Forum threads of thousands of people who can't find stock, nowhere. Really sad...

With Game you can fill in a form so you can still get it when stock arrives (that's what I've heard anyway - haven't tried it myself though).

With regards to 8ta - the prices just seem way to good, so they couldn't have not expected an unprecedented number of orders.
 
Picked up the last one last week at Eastgate.they still have a few phones available if anyone is interested.

Just poppoed in to Cresta Telkom Direct. They dont have stock......they have no clue when they are getting stock .....and they cannot tell me which stores have stock.

Will try Clearwater this afternoon.

Telkom sucks - you cant even call to confirm stock :-(
 
So, anyone else have a problem with the sound of the tablet. I got two on the 8ta special. One works fine, the other one it sounds like a car that is starting when music is playing. Any ideas?

At Festival mall in Kempton Park, but we took the last stock. Sorry.

So, as they are out of stock, my 6 day old tablet will need to be sent for repairs, as they cannot swop it out - sigh.
