I used witglobal_technology for both the case and screen protector, customs was R30-00 and the final purchase price you can calculate yourself. Took around 3 weeks to get here.
Just make sure you order Huawei Ideos S7 Slim.

I got it on mtn 100 @ R99 p/m. Well worth it price for this device.75megs free data p/m for 6 months. Got psx and various emus loaded and works like a dream.screen res is 256k though so psx can look pixelated at times.but 3 questions tho :
1. What is root and how do i do that ?
2. can i upgrade os to gingerbread or honeycomb?
3. Where can i get pouch/folio locally for this at reasonable price ?

have always been a high end symbian user, so a first to android and im impressed...

Search for "Gingerbreak" on the XDA forums (Google it), it will be explained there and how to use it.

Not yet, there is no Gingerbread rom that I'm aware of.

I'm not aware of anyone who holds this locally, you best bet is to import, much cheaper in any case.

If you did something stupid and need to factory reset the device:

And just this tip, go and select USB debugging NOW! In most cases you can do nothing unless this is enabled, so do it NOW!

a quick question on connectivity... how do i get the bluetooth and wifi to work.... Can send via bluetooth to other devices but cant receive.... Also,wifi is hit n miss... cant pickup joikuspot transmission sent by my nokia n97...
 
finally got around da bluetooth issue by downloading a bluetooth file manager.... Wifi still weird tho... Can pick up the s7 open transmission on my n97,but cant pickup the n97 joikuspot wifi on my s7.....
 
S7 slim freezing problem with external sd card

Hi,

I got my s7 slim from MTN on 99 pm contract. My experience with this tablet is good, the browsing speed, user interface and calling capabilities etc.

But I am having a problem with any data accessing from my external memory card, I am using 8GB external memory card and my tablet hangs if I am accessing a song or video or even a picture from it. Sometimes if I leave it, I can reboot using power button, otherwise I have to remove the battery to switch on again.

Please can some one help me with this issue.

If I don't access anything from my external memory card, it works like a dream.

Have you tried a different file manager?

To be honest I have not had a reason to use the external SD since the tablet comes with oddles of space. Will try tonight and see what happens.

What class memory card are you using?

I have used 3 different cards with no problems. Have you tried re-formatting the card?

You need to test that card in another device to see if it works. Do you perhaps have, or know someone who has another device that uses a micro sd card(cell phone, camera, tablet, etc.)?
