LOL.. ok. Just a bit scared of V-O-D-A-S-C-A-R-E.
Yes i read about Morkhans' Vodacare dilemma. But that was Vodacare Canal Walk... Just because 1 Vodacare made a mistake, doesn't mean the rest are the same?
I still think it's better to avoid sending the device to Vodacare unnecessarily.
I wonder if the device has been put into manual operator selection mode and it is always trying to connect to MTN. I don't know if the Vodafone dashboard allows one to configure roaming / operator selection.
That was my concern, if one has set it in another dashboard, VMC might not allow you to set it back.AFAIK, VMC does the network selection Automatically. I looked around the Dashboard now and i dont see any option that lets you do this manually.
Did you set network selection to automatic?I installed Mobile Partner software which allows you to select the network that you want to connect to, but with the Vodacom sim it just does not want to register on the Vodacom network
MDMA 1.0.0.30 now has the ability to set operator selecting to automatic.I wonder if the device has been put into manual operator selection mode and it is always trying to connect to MTN. I don't know if the Vodafone dashboard allows one to configure roaming / operator selection, try installing the Huawei Mobile Partner dashboard.
What happened at Vodacare?@Iam3G : Taking the card to a Vodacare center in the next 20min.![]()
There a possibility that the modem is Blacklisted. Take it to your nearest Vodacare and ask one of the consultants to do a IMEI Validation on that Modem. Or try calling 082155 even, maybe they can do it too.
It turned out the modem had been blacklisted by Vodacom.... hence the reason I could log in via MTN.![]()
What happened at Vodacare?
I'm having a similar experience with a weird modem someone gave me to play with; on the outside it's a E160, but the firmware reports it's a E156B. The modem works fine with an MTN SIM, but will not register on Vodacom, and I tried two different Vodacom SIMs (which work in other modems).

You have PM.You can PM me the 15 digit IMEI number and I can check if it is blacklisted.
So MTN and Vodacom do not share their blacklists between each other?
I also thought once a modem is Blacklisted, its Blacklisted for all Networks.
