Huawei Mate 20

My problem is really with shill reviews, and those reviewers to be too scared to criticise issues (or play them right down) because they’re petrified of being left off the freebie list for the next release or are being paid to only say good things.

Even when serious issues crop up they’ll very quickly knock up a vacuous pretend comparison and try and lead the discussion away from the issues many customers are experiencing all over the world.

Greengate? Let’s just throw out a story about how the product DESTROYS the competition.

Nothing wrong here [fingers in ears] la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la ...

I think the problem with Dave is you have to run by everything s-l-o-w-l-y, on a one by one basis.

I think too fast, and he may get confused :/

No, the problem with Dave is he’s irritated by shills and fanboys (of any persuasion).

Especially shills who will go on whoring for freebies even when problems occur and they’ll post nonsense to try and deflect away from the issues, causing less technical people to still go out and buy the problem product and then get stuck trying to resolve a refund or replacement which might take them weeks or months.

It's a new level of salty

One word has him going nuts.

Bud, stop confusing us reviewers with the company.

We cannot do anything about the issues, those of us who have the review devices seem to have BOE displays, so we cannot even relate to the issue.

I will still continue to post any content I find about the device and guess what? You can to!

Isn’t it amazing you’re only able to find good stories that don’t mention the problems a consumer might face?

You should feel guilty of continuing to shill and that people might actually decide to buy and then get a bad phone on the back of your shilling.

As I said, just too scared to criticise in case the freebies get cut off.

I've had a very positive experience with this device bud, but if you are having a negative experience with it, go ahead and post your negative experiences with the Mate 20.

We aren’t discussing specific individual handsets, this is a discussion about the review shills.

Have you noticed that lots of people who have bought the Mate 20 Pro have had problems?

Or have you just kept your eyes closed and gone “Lalalalala, there is nothing wrong, Huawei give me more free things please”?

So what you are basically saying is that you want the entire thread to be based on the issues? That we reviewers cannot do anything about...

Again, if you are having a bad experience with your Mate 20, then post here, Huawei are active here (you know this to), so you'll be heard.

He doesn't have a Mate20...... he's just pissed because his not lucky enough to get freebies.....

Dave ... I can see your thoughts are all over ... Very emotional replies ... Should we have a time out and you can get your ducks in a row?

GSMArena seemed very happy with the device, charged up in just 56mins thanks to the Super Charging and they seem to be happy with the pricing even compared to its rivals:

So let me get this straight :

You're prefer for someone to review on things they haven't experienced ?
You'd prefer them to talk about an issue they've never seen?

That - uh - an interesting way of looking at a review, really. I don't think it's realistic, but it is definitely interesting!

Have you noticed that lots of people who have bought the Mate 20 Pro have had problems?

Like the iPhones that didn't charge?

You should mail those reviewers and demand they put that issue into their review!

Unlike some in this thread I have too much integrity to accept free stuff just to prostitute only good reviews and comments about it all over the internet.

I’ve actually refused free stuff from a number of manufacturers over the years, even when we got working phones as demo units for the shops I always made sure the reps picked them up when non-functioning demo units became available. If I want something, I’ll buy it...

The desperation of the people so eager to appease Huawei by only being nice (even in the face of major issues) is just sad to behold.

Huawei give me more free things please”?

You keep going on about this :/

This is my 6th Huawei ... and I point out every issue I have or haven't (go to my thread history).

And do you know what the best part is? I'm eligible for an upgrade too and when I get my Mate20Pro nothing I've said will change ...

What happens at the point?

Show me where I defended iPhones not charging? I didn’t see any shill reviewers pretending that the iPhone destroyed all competition by posting nonsense advertorials to try and cover up greengate battery issues.

You really are a one dimensional fanboy, aren’t you?

So you’re denying that Huawei give out free products in order to get good or non-critical reviews/online content?

I said earlier that certain posters received sample or demo units.
I'm denying the 'good or non-critical review' part you made up

If also very curious to understand what happens when I give it back, and get my own?

You misread.

I think that if you expect reviewers to review something that hasn't happened them (weird - but ok) - you should demand the iPhone reviewers do the same! In fact, all reviewers from this point forward should start writing about what they haven't experienced !
