Any chance you could post some pics with the cover on the phone and some thoughts on it ? Is it the soft tpu type?
I'm looking for a nice hard clear back cover if possible , checked with Huawei today and they say covers should be in store in the next week or two as they arrived in SA this week.

Lemme try see what I can do. It's a black cover. Tpu but feels solid enough. It also is thick enough to stop the camera lense touching a table when u put it down. For R40 it's perfect. Hopefully pics coming up...

Whoa! Not to sound like an a-hole, but why get such a big phone then? (I get that whole different strokes thing, but... )

Just felt like a bit of a change having used Samsung for the last 4 years and the specs on the Mate 7 is pretty good. :D

I use my phone a lot during the day for e mail , browsing and messaging services and I am very impressed with battery life on the Mate 7 , it was one of the biggest selling points for me .

Don't get me wrong there is no doubting that the quad HD displays on the new Samsung's etc are really nice and great to look at ,but for me I will rather settle for a great 1080 display as on the Mate 7 and not have to worry about battery life . I have had the Nexus 6 and the LG G3 and both devices were great ,but I can honestly say that going from those Quad HD displays down to the Mate 7's 1080 display has made no real difference in my own personal user experience for every day to day use .

The Mate 7 has been a very pleasant surprise in my opinion as I am currently really enjoying it and being able to now keep both my personal and work lines in one device is an absolute pleasure . It is also a very attractive device with a premium build and the Gold actually looks really good .

I just wish they would have launched the accessories with the phone (like covers etc) .

Has anyone noticed that there was no Mobile Data control app active on their device ? I had to download "activity launcher" to find the Mobile Data control portion on the device which allows one to set a limit etc for mobile data use . In the end though I actually downloaded the "My Data Manager" from the play store and have been using this so far . I have found it to be a pretty decent app and performs well .

Thanks for the info about "My Data Manager". Going to install it now :)

Hah! Hadn't noticed that there was no data management. Not that I use it, because with both sims having data I have to manage it manually in any case. Does data manager handle multiple sims?
