Technically there is a data management app built in the device software (it is hidden for some or another reason) ,BUT you need to download an app called "Activity Launcher" on the play store and then enable it (I found the info on one of the Huawei forums) . The app "My data Manager" does not differentiate between two sims (The dual sim Gold Mate 7) which is a bit of an issue . So what I did was use the built in Manager for my Sim 1 slot (after unlocking it using the "activity launcher" app) and then the "My data Manager " app I have used for my Sim slot 2 .

Its not a perfect set up ,hopefully Huawei will have their baked in Data Manager better sorted out with the Lollipop update which is coming sometime . Iv been using this setup for the past month and it has at least kept me in check with my mobile data when I am out as I am on WiFi at home most of the time .

They say the screen is still retina quality? How noticeable a difference is it? I was playing on my G3 last night and it felt ridiculously small after this :D

I had an LG G3 and yes the display in fairness on the LG is better and sharper I suppose in pixel quality , but if I am honest in daily use I do not even notice it . I suppose if I had to sit down and really compare after watching videos I would notice it more ,but I am happy with the trade off of the good 1080 display and great battery life , for now anyway's .

I actually used a S5 yesterday as I was setting one up for a family member and it felt tiny in hand after coming from phones like the Note 3 , Nexus 6 and now Mate 7 .

I had the same problem with the S6 Edge. It felt tiny.

I'm very happy with the display quality. 1080p is more than enough for this size.

I ordered a Nillkin case from Amazon and it arrived this week, I am happy with it. The pics aren't the greatest but gives an idea:

Its good to see what they look like in an actual pic . I have ordered one of these plus a clear cover and a tempered protector . Just waiting for them to arrive . I have given up on both cellular mall and Huawei , both said that covers would be arriving end of April , but still nothing . So ill just have to wait for my Amazon stuff to arrive , hopefully it wont be too much longer .

Anyone using their Mate 7 heavily for e mail ? If so are you using the stock e mail app or have you downloaded another ? I tried the stock app ,but could not seem to find any settings that allowed me to download only the headers and to downsize pictures when adding them as attachments .

Hey bud

Where did you get the tempered glass?

I am using heavily heavily for email. Stock email app. I prefer it to download the message, but I didn't notice it was downloading the whole trail until you mention it now. It doesn't download the attachments unless I request them.

Never typed so accurately before though as with this phone and SwiftKey.

Skype works perfectly fine. In fact, I've been successfully running games like RR3, Riptide GP2, etc. with no lag.

Iv been using mine for a while now and have had no lag at all , granted though I am not a big game player (play the odd one now and again) . I have used it with Skype with no issues and also watching a lot of video and pretty heavy on the browser and e mail etc etc . Honestly at the devices price point I do not think you can find better in SA . I have used the LG G3 , S5 ,Note 3 and honestly I prefer the Huawei Gold Mate 7 (Dual Sim and 3gb Ram) over all these devices .

It has amazing battery life and the finger print scanner is one of the best (certainly the best I have tried) on any device out there . The build quality is also really good I just wish Huawei and the service providers would get their act together and have accessories available in stores . I have had to resort to ordering from Amazon (back covers and tempered protectors ) , that being said it does come with a screen protector already fitted and a pretty good quality S View type cover in the box . I am not a fan of these flip type covers though as they tend to get in the way and hence ordered the back covers from Amazon .The big plus about the Mate 7 Gold edition is that it is also a dual sim device (Cell C exclusive apparently) ,this was one of the big draw cards for me personally .
