Huawei Mate 7

Looking for a cash deal on the 32GB variant. Anyone got some recommendations where to try. If second hand it must look as new - not a mark

This thing is built like a tank, you should be able to get one in great condition. Gumtree will be a start, if you trust it.

Maybe also check if Orange ZA Store has it at a good price. :)

Orange only has 16gb, not a lot on Gumtree either

The Gold Duel sim version with 3gb Ram is fairy scarce vs the regular version with 2gb Ram , but the Gold version is almost a completely different beast vs the regular version and well worth it . Besides the extra Ram and duel sim capability iv also read on a couple of comparison reviews that some people have even noted that the Gold versions camera is a bit better as well .

I'll second this , the build quality on the Mate 7 is really good and very premium . That aside though for a 6" display it actually feels very good in hand and they have done a great job keeping the device as small as they have considering the screen size .

Any links to comparisons. I'd be very interested.

I'll try and find them when I get a chance , read/watched the reviews etc more than 3 months back before I got my Mate 7 , so can't remember exactly which site/reviewer they were from off hand .

Otherwise if you have any questions about the device just shout and I'll answer as best I can . Iv had numerous devices with majority being Samsung so I wanted a change . The Mate 7 caught my eye as I prefer larger screens and the duel sim function appealed to me as iv been able to ditch carrying 2 devices around for just a single one now . It was my first Huawei and iv honestly been very happy and impressed . I can't speak for the rest of the Huawei line ,but the Mate 7 is every bit a premium device as the more expensive Samsung devices iv used in the past .

Hi

Just got my hands on this. Anyone played extensively with the dual sim? I am having trouble in that if I change the 4G/3G slot to slot 2, i cant make called on slot 2. Data works but it says "Mobile network not available" even though data is working fine

That sounds very weird , I flip my 3G from sim 1 to sim 2 fairly often and have never had that , just tried it now again and everything works just fine my side .
I have a Vodacom sim in slot 1 and Cell C in slot 2 , works perfectly no matter which I use for 3G/LTE data .

Is it still giving you issues ? Thought you managed to get it sorted ?

Yes at that moment. I tried with a Vodacom too. If I switched off lte it just said emergency calls only on sim 2
