Huawei P10 Lite

Thank you! Had to stalk you on Twitter to read the link though

One thing I hate about the T&Cs is that they don't specify when the "launch" period ends. I have a uChoose plan, so how will I know when I can have it enabled?

I tried to get a more informed answer on the Vodacom website support forum. This was the reply....however, he seems to have deleted his reply since.

1. I struggle to believe that Huawei had anything to do with the dicision making in ellecting to disable these features on our P10 Lite's as they are more than happy to have it enabled on other carriers in other countries.

2. Yes, the Huawei P10 Lite is a cheaper phone, but it is hardly CHEAP when I look at the cost price. Also, the P10 Lite is cheaper, but not that much cheaper compared to the Samsung A3 2017 model (when we were still selling this model) and yet, the Samsung A3 supports both Volte and VoWiFi.

3. As for no Huawei model supporting VoWiFi at all, this is clearly not the case as proven by Sinbad.

4. Why on earth would a mobile operator limit these functions on a phone which clearly does support it....all you have to do is as that they enable it in the operator firmware and push it out. Why disable a feature which will:

1. Improve customer experience and satisfaction by way of clearer and HD quality calls. Improve battery life on the phone due to not having to constantly fall back to 3G to make or take a call. .

2 Faster call setup times (and potentially fewer dropped calls). Relieving congestion and freeing up spectrum on the 3G network by moving more people onto Volte (potentially allowing for more spectrum to be refarmed and allocated to the 4G LTE network).

3. Moving traffic completely off the mobile network last mile via VoWiFi....YET, still benefitting from customer revenue as the customer's normal minutes is still used and billed for BUT ALSO, improving customer experience where Vodacom signal is weak or lacking BUT the customer has got access to acceptable ADLS or Fibre backhaul'ed WiFi at home or office, thereby making the customer sticky and less likely to port out.

The Vodacom Mate 10 Pro doesn't even have VoLTE, so I don't know where that guy is getting his info from. I think that maybe they can't enable it for everyone yet, for some or other reason, but can't say that, so they're coming up with lame excuses.

One thing I would still LOVE to get rid of on my device, is Call+. I only want to use Message+, but there's no way to enable the one without the other. I had Android Messages installed, but it can be unreliable at times.

Hi guys. Have any of u used this firmware finder App for Huawei? It seems there is new firmware....but when I check on my phone built in updater it does not come up with new firmware...and I have checked with HiSuite also and that too shows that my phone is on latest firmware???

I haven't used firmware finder on the P10 Lite, but have used it with the P9 Lite. I haven't had any issues with it previously. I will most likely use it again though, to update to Oreo once it's released.

The Vodacom/Vodafone update for Oreo (8.0.0.363) is on Firmware Finder, so we'll be getting the update soon

Excellent. We're receiving monthly updates in preparation for it. Although the P8 lite 2017 is receiving more updates than my P10 lite.

Hi guys, any ideas/suggestions on a watch I can use for this phone? I want nothing more than a fitness tracker/heart rate monitor with a distance covered count for when playing soccer. Not bothered about messages/whatsapps/ calls etc.

I decided to use Firmware Finder to update to Oreo

So far so good, although I haven't done a factory reset yet. I'm still contemplating whether I should do it, lol, because I don't feel like going through all that effort We'll see how it goes after a week

Oreo is running nice and smoothly. Takes a long time to set up after a factory reset (with wipe and no restore), but worth it.

Will test battery life etc, holding thumbs.

I did the update and it is running nicely. No issues. What would the benefit be of resetting after update?

Clear all the historical files and settings which are obsolete. Recommended after any major OS upgrade

Lord...I just don't have the energy to redownload and setup all my app's again. /Sigh

Surely these days phones and operating systems are advanced enough to do this automatically after a big update and optimize these things without putting the user through such hassle.

Google does this for you. You won't get all your apps setup properly though, but all your apps will be downloaded while you're busy with the setup.

I had to do a reset after the update, because I wasn't getting all my notifications. Also, I have a misbehaving app, and wanted to make sure it wasn't because of the update (it wasn't ). Anyway, my phone is running a bit better after the reset.

I had battery drain over night (about 30 percent), but after switching 4G off every night it's now 2 or 3 percent). Saw on the Samsung forum that Android 8.0 have a battery drain bug that is fixed in 8.1.

Anyone else?
