Huawei P10 Lite

How do I switch off the vibrate when typing thing, highly annoying and can't find where to put it off?

If anyone's interested, Telkom has the p10+p8lite+30GB(split over 3 months) on a 1GB FreeMe for R369pm. I personally hate contracts

It should be in your keyboard settings. Which keyboard are you using?
I have no idea, can't even find the keyboard settings. Just when I got used to the menus it changed with the last update.

Edit: found it. Went to Google assistant and said keyboard settings, that brought it up. Thanks.

Finally got the oreo update, after such a long wait.

Received this morning (Telkom):

August 2018 security updates

What do you guys think is the propability of us P10 Lite users getting Android P update? I have seen the normal P10 being listed, but nothing about the P10 Lite. Will our phones now be left out in the cold after getting Oreo?

I'm hoping for at least 8.1 to hopefully fix some of the bugs, like some apps getting killed in the background (even though set to ignore battery optimization).

9 would really be a bonus.

How is everyone's battery holding up these days? I have to charge my phone twice, sometimes thrice a day, depending on my usage. I've had my phone for a year now though, so I'm not sure if it's hardware or software related.

My battery is still on 47%, after sitting on the internet and email the whole day(at a conference). Not bad.
Edot: normally lasts the whole day easily. Even with my kids watching movies.

But you haven't had the device for very long, if I recall correctly? I'm considering doing a factory reset to check the battery life. It's either my apps that are draining my battery, or my battery is giving in.

Mine is still relatively new, think about 2 months now.

I just checked in Gmail and I added my main account 12 January, so had it since then.
My battery is lasting all day easily. I do a bit of emailing, make regular notes in Keep, load my business visits in Sheets (5 to 6 entries) through a form in Firefox.

Then some Tapatalk on this forum and another and some Googling every time I wonder about something and play with Google Assistant (to make calls and to start the online searches). Sometimes I watch a Youtube video or two.

My bluetooth headset (its battery last about 4 days, more without music) for calls is on much of the day (give my ears a rest every hour or so, then it's off for a few minutes). And music from Google Play Music randomly for a few minutes (20 minutes total throughout the day).

***** What is your screen on time before having to recharge?
Mine is about 5hours 30m total. I didn't do as much today, screen ontime is currently (20:00) 2h54m and 53% left.

With heavy usage, I get between 3 to 4 hours of SOT, whereas I used to get 5 - 6 hours of SOT. I mostly check social media, and I have my location services on, for my location tracker app (for safety reasons). I also play games for a bit (Asphalt 8 and 9), BUT even my standby time has decreased. Without playing games, and with location services off, I barely make it to 5pm without charging.I did a smart diagnosis on HiApp, and everything else passes, except the battery.

EDIT: I have turned off all apps running in the background except for my banking app, Google Play Services, WhatsApp and Telegram. I deleted most of my apps, and installed Twitter Lite, so I'll see how it goes tomorrow.

Didn't Google Play Services restart automatically just in a second?
Google can't afford losing a keystroke. .LOL.

I have bluetooth, location and wifi always on. I never switch it off.

I hope it's an isolated battery issue and not something that will happen to all P10 lites (not after only 1 year).

I'm actually just hoping that it's rogue apps, and not a battery issue

This is my current usage at 36%:

Lost 4% of battery overnight, compared to 10% the night before.

It's definitely an improvement, but I'll update how things are when I get to 20%.

I didn't turn that off, because I know how needy Google is

Updated my phone, now my hotspot doesnt work anymore.

Any guess what it can be? All settings stayed the exact same
