Huawei P40 Lite vs Apple iPhone SE

Apple recently launched its new iPhone SE 2020, which followed shortly after the launch of Huawei’s new P40 flagship smartphone series.

These major manufacturers both offer a range of high-end, premium smartphones with a price tag to match their powerful hardware.

I would not call these devices "flagship". I don't think R10k is quite affordable. R6k is probably more acceptable but I'm not sure if I would risk the move to HMS.

I am surprised that the p40 is about 6K. Good price but I don't think I'm ready for a world without Google just yet.

Basically you pay for security

Apple - Safe and secure
Huawei - Information Central to the Chinese government

I would take the Apple anyday, or well maybe a Samsung. I see Apple is starting to move all their suppliers to either in Japan or the US.

On May 4, 2020, Huawei announced that its mobile operating system – EMUI has obtained the ISO/IEC 27701 certification for its privacy information management system from the British Standards Institution (BSI).

With this certificate, Huawei became the world’s first smartphone maker to receive it from BSI. The certificate covers the design, development, and maintenance services of the EMUI system. As well as its application software, including more than 50 applications and features that involve sensitive data processing, such as software update, emergency location service, system application, user experience improvement plan, and intelligent service provided by EMUI.
Lol!

That's odd. Your post hasn't been deleted yet, even though you're critical of Huawei. Unlike my Disqus post that was deleted (twice), even though I just pointed out that it is pointless to claim the iPhone's 4.7" display as a disadvantage against the P40, because the whole idea of the second-generation iPhone SE is to have the latest hardware in a compact form factor.

Apple Press Release said:
The first iPhone SE was a hit with many customers who loved its unique combination of small size, high-end performance and affordable price; the new second-generation iPhone SE builds on that great idea
