Huawei P6

Battery life is HUGELY improved it seems. Unplugged my phone at 6:30 AM and am now on 60%. (I needed to recalibrate the battery to get it working properly again).[/QUOTE]

How did you recalibrate the battery?

Yes a lot of the features are in Emotion ui 1.6 but in 2 more options have been added, Phone Manager with harassment filter is something new. My point is I found these features more exciting than anything KitKat added.

This was too damn buggy to keep on my phone anyway and I have had all those features on my phone since whatever version the nexus s shipped with, so the manufacturer finally adding into their software something the market had had for years is nothing special, not for me anyway. Besides, the Emo filters come with too many notifications and messages making it more irritating than useful.

Not really Google's place anyway to add in such features, they maintain a secure customisable operating system that allows manufacturers and users alike to add features they both want and need instead of the loads of bloatware added by the likes of Samsung. The lack of unnecessary rubbish is what I like most about Huawei.

You mean "liked" I wonder what more will be aded to UI 2.3?

PS I think I am just negative about KitKat because I, and everyone in South African, did not win any of those 1000 Nexus giveaways!

Probably not for a few more months, it has not left China yet.

Rolling out next month according to the alleged reports. Emotion UI 2.3 (or later) will be pushed as a separate update.

Urg. Next phone will be a Ubuntu phone I think. No more crazy waiting periods for firmware updates.

I wonder how long will Vodacom take after the availability in early June.

Huawei is pushing a corporate environment in SA, they might (or already) start to host their very own distribution nodes in SA, meaning that the networks can react to their rollouts quicker. Then again, this will be extremely selective in what is made available locally.
