Huawei P6

Curiosity killed my P6!
I upgraded my P6 Yesterday from B132 to B507 and at first everything looked fine all my Google apps were working fine then I noticed that my GPS were were not working and I played with settings and rebooted a couple of times and that came right then I lost my data connection and no matter what I do I cannot get it back. WiFi works fine but all my apps report that there is no data connection although it’s been selected. I tried to downgrade but no luck. I tried to download to B111,B125 and B132 but it fails every time.
Please help.

Bit busy at work now to find it myself, but there is a very specific process you need to follow outlined on the B507 thread on XDA in order to downgrade, its actually not possible without a middleman step.

I found this.....
"download TWRP recovery which i attached bellow
flash it in boot-loader by "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" without quotes...
then turn off the phone and go to recovery by holding ( VOL_up+VOL_down+POWER )
choose format system...and then in power option choose reboot to boot-loader and again flash stock recovery
I'm attached it..."fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"...
now copy 4.2.2 in your sdcard dload folder...
at least go to recovery by ( VOL_up+VOL_down+POWER )... and the phone automatically begins the downgrading process..."

What does"flash it in boot-loader by "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" without quotes" mean?????

I was figuring this stuff out the other day:

@Piet Le Roux if your phones can boot in to os then what you can do install cockworkmod touch recovery .apk here((http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2417919)) make sure ur phone is rooted before. open the cwm app and select insall recovery.Download place TWRP 2.7 zip in root of your sd card open cmw app once again and select boot into recovery, once there select the twrp 2.7 zip and flash it. Now you have twrp recovery now boot up and place omni rom on sd card and power off the device. Press and hold Vol + - and power to boot into recovery and flash omni rom and flash gapps and wipe delvik/cache reboot system and your good to go. Hope it helps. BTW when I flashed Chinese KITKAT i never had data connection not even once only wifi.

If I install cwm I won't be able to do a stock rom update and I don't want to load Omni rom I just want to go back to 4.2.2

Have u tried B104 firmware that was the very first firmware may be it works.

How to get back from B507 to B111:
first downgrade to B506, remember with B507 you have to use the dload folder in the internal memory not on the SD card. Load your UPDATE.APP there and proseed.
Download this file:
https://mega.co.nz/#!9oEHUTiR!uVKEq6PYefO-p4_kJcJpHw2luWZT8QZ5yrnedx4rug4
Copy the UPDATE.APP from the downloaded file to the dload folder on your SD card (with B506) and do a local update. If this is successful you can now update any 4.2.2 stock rom via your SD card and local update.

now I can have a peaceful nights sleep......

PS thanks for all the help

P7 is looking good. Just hope they keep the price competitive.

no need to run gps toolbox. get the gps test app. enable your gps by setting to high. then under gps test tick keep screen on. let it run, after 5min you should be fine. else reflash the rom.

Nearly everything.

My music is dead. Two different music players freeze/don't play.

This is playing music off the SD card.

Music seems okay now.

The last (and fairly substantial issue) appears to be battery life. When I woke up this morning, my phone was charged. Upon unplugging it, I was at under 80% within minutes.

Music issue was caused by certain files I was trying to play. Sorted.

GPS is sorted, thanks Fransh.

Battery life is HUGELY improved it seems. Unplugged my phone at 6:30 AM and am now on 60%. (I needed to recalibrate the battery to get it working properly again).

The day I spend with Huawei’s KitKat via my temporary update to B507 was interesting but the one thing that stands out about it were the enhancements to the Emotion UI not KitKat. The ART were not available in the developers options (unless there is a special tick to enable it). So far it seems that only the nexus and Motorola devices have ART , none of Samsung’s devices have it, I am not sure about LG.
The Emotion 2 IU gives you total control over each app : you can even decide if it can use your data connection or just WiFi or both or none. And at last a call and sms blocker included in the firmware! The file manager now integrates Internal , SD and cloud memory .. Nice. But the news is now that the update would only be available in June…. maybe. Maybe it would be easier to just get a P7.

The developers had trouble an disabled ART, there is a flashable xip to load in a working ART, according to the guy who made it, it was a few code tweaks and took barely an hour so Huawei devs are being lazy on that one.
As far as I can recall, all those features you mention are already in the current Jellybean, I remember having full control over app permissions, but at the same tiem I never liked its built in permission manager, kept on sending notifications for half the **** that went on and constant toasts everytime you opened an app that had restrictions on it.

I will rather stick with my XPosed XPrivacy which gives me even more control than you are describing without any of the annoyances.
